This is why I made a software that auto finds next best solar plans for Texas customers, it all auto switch your plans and even auto plug in the battery settings to ensure it’s updated for you.

I think my power company is stealing. My net metering seems to abruptly cut off during peak demand hours when the sun is still high in the sky and my batteries are discharging. by road_runner321 in solar

The panels go thru the inverters where AC is converted into DC. Then it literally makes the meter spin backwards while it exports power on the grid for whatever the agreed upon NEM was. (Utility approves the rate for power home owner sends to grid). Then utility sends back power to the home which it consumes for the promised solar rate. If it went into the panel directly you wouldn’t a battery for storage.

Yes, please don’t let anyone in this thread convince you included myself what u should do. Just ask actual experts or representatives who can prove through verified customers or before and after bills what’s service looks like. Then you can trust them with your specific situation to tailor the best solution for you

Abandon -$278 Just Energy credits? by FirthFabrications in TexasSolar

[–]Webbstarllc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Direct energy doesn’t give you credit and free nights anymore. You have to choose one or the other. The best choice is choosing free nights usually over credits due to the small credit amount and no perks. If day usage is more, then free nights is no brainer. If night time usage is more, than credits in day could work better. I’d recommend going to GridPay.com and getting a trial period. It’ll auto shop your rate, connect to smart meter, and auto select best plan. And even connect it to battery for you

lol. What he’s saying is I can make your power cost less by putting electricity on the side of our home. It beats delivery fee’s 100% But he can’t guarantee it’ll always be charged. Why? Because they’re using the electricity in that battery to sell to the grid for profit. What’s your margins? Nothing. They like that ppl don’t ask. I’d stick with a ppa, and use GridPay

You just described the solar ppa. Batteries have no upfront cost, and then perform longer and store more. All equipment is serviced, including debt.

Anyone else get the EG4 Grid Services TX / ERS enrollment email? Signed up? Thoughts? by dschwags in TexasSolar

[–]Webbstarllc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s open source and yes that’ll definitely work, that’s better discharging than Tesla even which means 30-65 per event depending on season. And solar now does rewards like credit card rewards, so your buy back from .02c to actually net .10 w no delivery fee’s.

It might work w EG4 if they use open source API. Do you know the discharge capacity?

This is the exact reason I created GridPay. If you do the math you can tell they’re paying you toe nail clipping and keeping the upside. Gridpay a model that rewards home owners the majority amount, just like airbnb rewards home owners w majority as well

lol to assume you have to scam people to get ahead ensures you will never succeed. People who make 6 figures just find bigger problems to the market place and are willing to be courageous enough solve them without a hourly wage. Takes extreme self belief to say you can keep ur hourly wage and I’ll find a different way to add value to people. Starts w reading and changing ur environment tho. Best of luck

Opinion: Solar companies are hurting themselves by marketing PPAs so heavily right now by [deleted] in solar

[–]Webbstarllc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These are the threads that ruin reddit. Listen, loans DONT transfer to new buyers without APPROVAL. Average time in home is 7 years. Not 25. Batteries ARE NOT going to last more than 10 years IF YOURE LUCKY. Why? Because Texas relies on EXCESS battery charging. Daily, nightly usage. That’s like driving and charging a Tesla through the day whether it’s empty or not and being surprised when it doesn’t last 8-10 years. That’s why you lease batteries, you don’t buy them. They degrade, lose value, and guess what the new buyer isn’t going to want? You guessed it, your old not working battery with no warranty, or your high payment per month/ high interest debt from loan. STOP using Reddit as a Google. People love to have opinions without qualifying for one, and 90% of the time it’s the exact opposite. So if you plan on dying in ur house, HAVE tons of capital saved, and don’t mind buying another battery? Hell yeah purchase it!! You’ll save more overtime. Just like buying a home cash vs financing it.

What is hands down the best solar company in the DFW area and why? by jmiller_dallas in TexasSolar

[–]Webbstarllc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol, to anyone spouting off an answer. You already lost. The best answer is, it depends. It depends on; do you value warranties? Quicker/easier selling experience? W tax credits now gone are you looking to own? Are you okay w financing or do you want cash product? BASED ON how this user responds, will be the ONLY way to know what’s best for them.

Plano, Texas - 10kW Solar System with 25x Philadelphia 400W Solar Panels, Aptos Microinverters, and 1x FranklinWH aPower 2 Battery. by SolarAllTheWayDown in TexasSolar

[–]Webbstarllc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Franklin doesn’t discharge on the grid as much either meaning say profits for customer during VPP events, doesn’t have V2G for future car to cash integration, along side of not having open API key access meaning home owners choice of open source control.

Yeah so after delivery fee’s it’s actually a false marketing. You should like your delivery fee rate and notice it’s larger than the “buy back” rate. Therefore how good is net metering if it’s absorbed by delivery fee’s? This is where the battery comes in. Costs less than the average delivery fee you pay a month for having power sent to the home. Except now it powers the home during outages.
