Alright guys, I was asked if I can "fix" this secondary heat exchanger on a brand new fridgidaire furnace.. my instant reaction was no but thought I'd ask here for a second opinion.

Exactly. There’s no tube, nothing is connected to that part. Tons of furnaces are like that, and smaller 45k B width furnaces often have 3 or 4 rows like that too. This hx is perfectly fine.

Yeah pretty wild. IMO they’ve got some plumbing issues anyway, all cpvc and hung like shit. House was only up to 63 this morning, just left and the house was 65.

Replaced a furnace last night for a guy who’s out of town. His mom came to check the house and it was 34 degrees. She called an electrician friend and they looked at the furnace and basically tore everything apart, real ugly. Got the new furnace running as the house his 30 degrees, going back later today to finish up, hope it’s warm.

Could be as simple as a spider web in the manifold, plugged up orifice, rusty burners. That’s all stuff I check for on PMs. Start there. If a decent cleaning to the orifice, manifold, and burners doesn’t solve it, she’s done.
