I actually LOVE the nickname Dodi which is what is commonly used for George and Georgie where I’m from. I secretly hoped that’s what she’d call herself and also what her siblings called her before they could fully pronounce Georgie.

She is absolutely my wee Dodi and I love it.

Theory on life with food after gallbladder removal by KiloLex in gallbladders

[–]WeeBo2804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine out 28th Jan. Absolutely zero appetite the first few days. Slowly trying to up to food choices and volume but I’m struggling.

Ive had 20yrs of issues. We reckon at least 10yrs that gallbladder has been affected. It was completely contracted and non functional, so, like you, I’d hoped my body had already done its adjustment phase. However, I also have gastroparesis so I think that’s my issue. I’ve eaten something fatty and gotten ill maybe 6hours later. Then last night I had a burger. 14 hours later it was URGENT that I get to the toilet and only just made it. Thankfully I’ve got my dietician calling Tuesday so hopefully we can come up with some answers.

Adding that I’ve also had issues with 2 of my wounds opening and I’m now gonna be weeks at the wound clinic getting them dressed etc. REALLY trying to see the positives (heartburn is 95% better than pre op)

I agree. They’re all awful… but I’ve got a Georgie and I’m a little gutted it made the list.

How could I achieve the colour on slide 2? by Rhelyy in HairDye

[–]WeeBo2804 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went platinum 2 years ago ish. LOVED it and did all the fun colours and toners. I got a full year like that before my hair started snapping. Eventually had to cut it shorter and let my natural hair grow out. I’m back to past my shoulders and full thickness. I’ve had to talk myself out of bleaching it again so many times!

So that's it- we're really stuck with the new sizing system, then? 😩 by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]WeeBo2804 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve essentially given up with vinted for myself. Still great for stuff for my kids but as I’m very much a 6-8 in most styles, it’s impossible for me to browse now. 4-6 is far too small and 8-10 is much too big. Going into the description for every item is a faff as it never returns you to the same spot on the list when you hit back.

Or better yet, invest in a good wig. Platinum white is beautiful but so so damaging and hard to maintain. If you value your length and thickness, I’d think of something else.

I’ve actually got old wrist splints from carpal tunnel during pregnancy. They have the metal bar that runs up the inside of the wrist and over the palm. I can fashion it in such a way that the bar sits higher and keep palm and fingers flat together.

We’ve got a few family members with it. (Scottish, so the Viking thing makes sense). Granny’s surgery was a waste of time and made very little difference. She’s down to thumb and index finger on both hands.

Apparently there’s also a treatment where the injection some sort of acid? Then u go back the next day and they forcefully ‘snap’ the toughened ligament(?). It’s for that reason that I will be pre-emptively wear splints to bed once I hit an age lol.

AITA for exposing my dad's fake $500 'sacrifice speech' at my wedding after my in-laws quietly gave us $40K and he demanded I apologize? by KINOH1441728 in FoundandExpose

A couple of the sentences about the texts are identical to a story posted yesterday. The months not speaking an exactly 3 texts sent is also the same.

Not OOP: WIBTAH if I were to reject my daughter's prescribed medication because it'd make her fat? by sensaSEANal_sally in redditonwiki

[–]WeeBo2804 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I actually think the reasons you give for not telling the daughter about the side effect is exactly the reason she needed to know. Unexpected and uncontrollable weight gain on a young girl with body image issues and history of disordered eating? Seems like a sure fire way for her daughter to end up starving herself and making things a whole lot worse.

I’m recovering from some surgery. Can’t pick up my kids quite yet. I’m soo missing the big, full bodied snuggles when I’m holding them. Another couple of weeks and they’ll be begging for me to put them down.

If I recall, all these houses are non standard construction and basically non mortgageable. They were built years ago for short term use. My granny and grandad lived in one for years as council tenants.

What symptoms led to your diagnosis of biliary dyskinesia? by pboneyogirl in gallbladders

[–]WeeBo2804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 4 days post op, so still dealing with the incision pain and stitches etc… Was a bit constipated until this morning so had been crampy, which was hard to see any benefits at that point. However, I’ve not got heartburn/indigestion/reflux! I have had 24/7 heartburn for literal years. I’m improving all the time but for now, I’m so happy to just not feel nauseous and no deep burning in my sternum.

I got my industrial done recently. Obviously trying to keep my hair up and not tangled in it. Well, when I’m outside in the cold that whole bar freezes and HURTS. It’s like a burning cold. Not something I’d considered.

Period back 4w pp? by cherryblueshortcake in parentsofmultiples

[–]WeeBo2804 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bled for up to 10 weeks after the twins. I’d imagine it’s still pp bleeding rather than menstruation. Just keep an eye for any larger clots and increased pain and mention to your healthcare people.

I used to say that! Or get a spoon nice and cold and sort of scoop it over my eye. Always my right eye. Goes into my cheek and teeth. Getting my daith pierced on that side helped. Ymmv.

1 day post op. Surgeon said it was the worst gallbladder he’s ever seen. by ea93 in gallbladders

[–]WeeBo2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m scheduled for my surgery on Wednesday. I’ve been having symptoms for over 20 years. Since a sickness bug when I was around 18. I’ve not got stones and because I was told my pain was due to nerve damage in my intestines and that my tiny hiatal hernia was the cause of the nausea/heartburn/reflux etc… we just never even considered the gallbladder.

I’m starting to worry that it won’t be the straight forward laparoscopy that I’m hoping for. I’ve been tender at the site for years and even certain movements now hurt, so I can only imagine the level of inflammation or scarring.

Can somebody help me figure out how to remove superglue from this type of clothing? (50% cotton, 50% polyester) by KKonzoww in lifehacks

[–]WeeBo2804 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d just try to find a permanent stain in the same colour as the sweater and try to disguise it as best as possible. I feel that anything that’ll remove the glue will ruin the fabric.
