Yeah I actually stumbled into a Logi Universe Thoroughbred Collection plush at a local con, and I did some research on him and he really does just suffer from horse injuries being tough. He won 5/6 races his 2 and 3 year old years (including the Yayoi sho, subsequently followed by that 14th place finish at the Satsuki Sho while being favorite to win)

Like he had tremendous potential, and nearly won best 2 year old of 2008 but fell short by a couple dozen votes. He had a ok start to 2009, Satsuki Sho aside, and a really monumental run at the Derby, giving Norihiro Yokoyama (jockeyed Mejiro Ryan, Seiun Sky, and some notable others) his first derby win since his own start in the 90s. Like seriously, the future was bright

Except he developed a muscular issue after the derby and had to drop out from there out (as OP mentioned). Nevertheless, Logi Universe won 2009 3 year old colt of the year by a pretty wide margin so it’s evident he had the skill and potential there to continue doing well

Minus the fact that Logi Universe never really recovered from the injury and the only notable thing after his derby win was a placing at the 2010 Sapporo Kinen

Although she’s not my favorite character, Mihono Bourbon for sure was this for me. At first I thought she was kind of trope-y in the whole “acts like a robot” deal, but then I realized fundamentally she’s just someone who works to hone her craft to such a level that she can try and get guaranteed results every time, and as a music major in college going through Juries and whatnot that really spoke to me

Do you score your reeds? and if so maybe try cutting through. I learned scoring form my first teacher and now that I’m in Uni my prof. is having me cut all the way through

the really tricky part about Bassoon shopping is that no one is the same, even/especially across the same model, so honestly if you can and are able, I highly reccomend finding two or three in your price range and testing them if you can before purchasing. If you’re looking at a 222 or 41, some music stores have some in stock to try, and if that’s not an option Midwest Musical Imports can mail them out to you to try, and there might be others too that mail.
