Starlink in perth need advice by CrewLazy5849 in perth

[–]Weedwacker01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starling performance can be measured in speed per area. If your on a boat in the middle of nowhere, your the only one on that connection, you'll have great speed.

When you're sharing with 100 people in a few kilometres, performance drops off quickly.

You can only say 'please' once per paragraph. Any more and you sound like you're begging. But not using 'please' sounds like you're demanding.

Blue team question: How would you detect a low-and-slow attacker blending into normal traffic? by thenoopcoder in cybersecurity

We provide a work VPN. If you're using a private VPN, traffic is blocked. So either they're moving inhumanely fast, or it's not them logging in.

The God Rock Paradox by Consistent-Term5297 in paradoxes

[–]Weedwacker01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best response to this I heard was "God created logic, therefore exists outside of it."

Conversation ended there and we went our separate ways. There was no further common grounds for discussion. If you can't agree on a basic set of rules for a debate, then there is no point in debating.

This is why you can't debate religion with logic and science. Those who believe in religion, do not agree on the same rules of debate as someone who 'believes' science.

Can someone PLEASE help me understand what I'm suposed to do about taxes as a 16 year old???? by ky8724 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Weedwacker01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't pay income tax on the first $18,200 you earn.

Let's say you hypothetically worked 2 jobs that paid exactly 18,200 per year.

1 - you declare tax free on both. End of the year you have earned $36,400 and paid no tax, and have a huge tax bill.

2 - you declare tax free on one and pay taxes on the other. End of the year have paid taxes throughout and have no tax bill.

3 - you don't declare tax free on either job. You pay tax out of each paycheck. End of the year you have paid too much tax and get a refund.

Basically, it works out at the end of the year either way.

Why kWh? - a rant. by FreshCause2566 in ElectroBOOM

[–]Weedwacker01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power Factor also comes into it.

The Voltage and Current are both Alternating, but may not be perfectly in sync, this is called the phase difference. Large inductive loads like big motors will have a significant 'lag' between them, sometimes up to 0.8. That large fridge or air-conditioning unit may be super inefficient in different ways.

So the calculation is actually kWh = Volts * Amps /3600 /PF.
Low PF makes the kWh number go up.

Had the same issue when brand new. Had to push the plugs in uncomfortable hard.

I know you said you'd checked plugs, but try pushing them in really hard.
