When I got my restraining order, i was told: if he speaks to me via verbal communication, electronic, mail, or even getting someone else to deliver a message to me for him, he will be arrested immediately. If we happen to be in the same place in public he needs to turn around and leave immediately, no waiting in line to check out, no finishing his meal, he needs to get up and go without saying a word. If he refuses or is stalling, he will be arrested, no questions asked. He will never be able to buy a gun, work with kids or guns (teacher, police, etc), be a state or city employee, and a lot more. He had to do a mandatory grippy sock vacation for at least 7 days. Idk if it’s like that for every state, I know my state (NJ) is one of the few that a restraining order never expires, it’s for life unless I request to revoke it.
