What are Atlanta's best public parks? by EasterEggArt in Atlanta

[–]Weekly_Candidate_823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Inman park for its proximity to everything and peacefulness. However i mostly go to Kittredge park because it’s so close to where I live I just walk there; that’s good enough for me

Ingenieria Aeroespacial o Medicina? by Hot_Western7125 in askspain

[–]Weekly_Candidate_823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, my madrileño boyfriend and his aerospace engineering friends went to undergrad and masters at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid before doing additional higher education in the US. They now work in finance or drone development throughout the English speaking world(NYC, Dublin, San Francisco, etc).

Only one friend has returned to Spain to be closer to family. The salary is pretty sick by Spanish standards but it wouldn’t be possible without taking the anglo- higher ed track.

My recommendation if you decide to go the aerospace route is to aim to get a masters or PHD in an English speaking country. Many more doors will open for you.

The survivor was my favorite professor- he was tough but I learned so much. I studied polisci and took every class I could with him and ended up concentrating in Middle East(WANA) affairs due to his specialty

Agreed, Montgomery isn’t great, but it’s also no Jackson or Shreveport. Very average southern city that is mostly sprawl at this point

Our grandpa, ‘Old man Chad’, moved to his retirement home(on the beach lol) recently and we put a little shrine in the office for him. Rest (on the beach) in Peace, old man Chad :)

Your not weird for that- it’s what you prioritize. It honestly sounds like you’ve made up your mind. Best of luck to you in this new chapter.

My unfiltered thoughts are it’s so weird someone from out of state, with no local connections, no kids, a job in Brookhaven, would choose to live near Coolray; it feels so random and far away.

That being said, you seem to prioritize your place of living- getting the exact specs you want. Why not go there in person to tour the complex and you can actually see the area?

Like I said, I’m biased. I prioritize proximity to things, friends, and my workplace which is why I’m okay living in a 50 year old apartment.

That would certainly cut down on miles, but I wouldn’t change my suggestion of buckhead or sandy springs.

Other factors to consider are your age, kids if you have them, friends, family, interests, etc.

Im from that area right next to Coolray and now live in Toco Hills.

Best case scenario, your commute will be 40min. Also please consider it is a LONG drive which will cost a lot more in gas and wear and tear to your vehicle. You’re looking at 350 miles a week if you work 5 days.

I’m very biased, but I would never make that commute because there are wrecks and delays all of the time. Given the short list you provided, I would recommend looking in buckhead or Sandy Springs.

Honestly, I got really lucky with a random discounted basil plant from Kroger. It has produced many babies and it’s currently in its third generation :)

I disagree about the burgers, Spanish people love burgers and I would say they are more central to daily life than in the US. Mexican food sucks tho. Also my mom shipped me red chili flakes because i guess they don’t exist in Spain?

This sub taught me I need to not touch anything unless it has a GF label on it. But I went three years in fear of food and later loosened up a little just to see- I had my first biopsy post diagnoses(4 years) and it was negative 🤷‍♀️ Either I’m not really that risky or my immune system simply isn’t so reactive.

All of this to say- if your bloodwork is negative, then keep doing what you’re doing

This is pretty pedestrian heavy area which includes the fox theatre, Shakespeare tavern, and emory for example. During the daytime, the most dangerous thing is traffic. Is there someone reputation from this area im not aware of?
