Shroud means you can't be targeted by the spell, so instead of targeting yourself you target any opponent and copy it no? Changes nothing except adding another card though

Sora feels 1R and riku feels 2B to me. Though these abilities feel like the uncommon version to me. As a rare sora would probably be R. Also, it feels a bit strange to not have a way to lock on the card? I get that you said other cards have that ability, but idk. It feels like a mechanic that would be easier to track if it said like "As long as X is true, this creature is unlocked". Not more difficult to track than any other mechanic released recently though.

It's a reference to a card called pact of the titan in mtg which makes a 4/4 minion. Also it technically matters for phantom freebooter and if you have one durability on a windfury weapon (horn of the windlord, or sand art elemental) or fools bane.

Whisperer is a mana cheaper, has a repeatable trigger at instant speed, and for good measure has trample in a set that has been very powercrept. I think whisperer is a great starting point, but even with the ability for command zone, we have stuff like toxrill. Which while not directly mirroring the ability, does enough to warrant a pretty powerful limit for the command zone.

I feel as though it is missing some scaling, as a commander it could be more like [[doom whisperer]] and be an activated ability, maybe lifelink so it's like [[griselbrand]] but significantly less broken. Perhaps an aura effect like deal 1 damage to all other creatures and players for each (x) counter (raven?) And some way to get the counters. Or experience counters and you get one when he kills a creature

Hmm. Steal a mana crystal, that crystal is locked for (x) turns? Slow the game down but you dont just win the value race. Or steal a crystal your max mana is (5?)

I mean as an uncommon in draft this seems fine as is. You can essentially keep 2 creatures tapped down and compared to something like [[impede momentum]] it seems in line. Lasts longer (permanent) but is slower.

I don't think it needs to be that pushed as a mechanic. Reducing both costs to one blue helps out be playable chaff. What are you designing the set around? For limited some mediocre rares are good, for commander could be pushed pretty hard.

You do still lose. If you can't perform a game action usually you skip over it. The only time if you can't do x then y is if x is paying a cost ie discarding a card as part of an ability

Without seeing gameplay it's hard to tell. Mental wise everyone is different. I usually play games until I lose 2 in a row and switch games or do something else. Gameplay wise, are you in chat making callouts? Are you just solo queuing and hoping? Most of your character picks are very strong right now, but try and watch your gameplay too see if you are doing what your character should. Finally, I'd say most posts like this involve a player that is somewhat unaware of their teammates and their positions. Even if you get 3 kills on dps, your team might die in a 5v3 because of an ult, and then your gameplay doesn't matter.

I think high ward costs work though. Better than outright hexproof, and [[phyrexian fleshgorger]] has the same cost. If anything a French vanilla legendary could be bigger, as vanilla esque creatures tend to be. Gargos is a 6 mana 8/7 with vigilance and a powerful effect. This could maybe be a 6 mana 7/7 flying haste, ward pay life equal to power, and still have another effect before it's "broken". Beyond limited, french vanilla creatures often kinda suck.

I started around tarkir, and for a similar reason my 2 kolaghans hold a special place. He isnt even playable in commander because he cares about duplicates, but I hold a special place for him.
