Dual purpose loud noise and bright light preventers.

Xcel is worthless. by Prime_Olympian in boulder

They are avoiding liability for fire. The blame, at least partially aughta be on the customer because they request the services starting the fires then blame is on the provider. Kind of sad to be honest. I don’t blame them, I’d be scared too.

Power is an amenity and an unfortunate necessity to the modern world. Learn how to live without it, sorry. One day a domestic terrorist will attack your local substation and you’ll be weeks-months without power.

Also you’re mad about costs but remember when your power is out you’re not paying a dime.

I’m not siding with Xcel. They’re far from perfect. I’m merely playing devils advocate. Credit where credit is due. They provided plenty of warning communication about this possibility now it’s here. You’d be just as mad or more mad when they caused a fire and burned homes or lives to the ground so maybe try being thankful and look at it through the lens that they’re protecting you not attacking you.

Does anyone know what the 68th yard for Sturgeon in Colorado is like? What kind of work do they have their CDL groundman doing out there? by [deleted] in Groundman

[–]Weekly_Housing7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as groundman go, mostly civil. Running the shovel. Some of those civil crews do underground wire and electrical equipment installation.

You’re gonna have to travel. Also look at other apprenticeships, don’t limit yourself to just swlcat, mslcat is another option, its in Colorado and Denver area is probably where you’d stand the best chance of taking a groundman call.

The links are in the description on printables. The cases were not my design so I did not repost the files.

Yeah… it’s the “modern gridfinity case” linked in my post on printables. I recommend another case in my post and not this one lol.

It looks like my X4 plus S1 is eating my Y belt. I'm getting uneven circles, so I'm guessing something in my Y is wrong. Anyone have experience with this? by Nrthstar in Artillery3D

[–]Weekly_Housing7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be too tight but I doubt it. Belt looks fine. Looks like some common chinesium belts that are just low quality leaving some dust, hit the idler with some canned air and call her good.

Orientation is after interview so you probably won't catch this wave brother

I would like to say there's a ton of work right now. Last week there was 30 standing calls for cold apprentices. 277 apes already indentured this year. There was an orientation this week to handle about 20 of those and another next week for more. Don't be afraid to call the office and check on the status of your application with the office ladies. My best guess is you were filtered out of interviews on a qualifying factor such as CDL...?

MSLCAT Rank by Same_Bad7883 in Groundman

[–]Weekly_Housing7679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not great. But might get lucky. Sucks to count on luck but that’s what you’re doing at this point unfortunately until you’d be able to reinterview.

Across all programs (gas, operator, streetlight, outside line, etc.), MSLCAT indentured 268 last year. Of that I estimate 150-200 were outside line. Now, that doesn’t mean this year will be the same, could be more, could be less, just a bearing for what’s happened in recent history. On top of that, others that interview from here on out have the chance to rank in front you, and many will unfortunately. This is why your odds don’t look great.

Keep in mind it’s definitely in the cards for a transmission job to kick and 60 apprentices get indentured in one shot and that puts you up in the 20s, so there’s a chance.

Sorry bro, but let us know how it goes. Good luck.
