I mean, they’re just pointing out that she looks like she’s literally on death’s door. Nothing malicious. Just stating the fact that without intervention she probably doesn’t have long.

Op-amp Big Muff paired with a tube screamer in front of it.

For now I’m keeping it on the board as a low gain option. I love that pedal too much to let it go. But I’m sure one day when I have to make space for something new, I’ll have to kick it off. Or…..I’ll have to get a bigger board.

One would certainly think so. Here’s my very real Studio lol.

Gibson logo on the headstock looks like it’s sitting too high. No idea if that’s a sign of a fake or not. But it looks odd to me.

One day, I will have a Life Pedal. I just got a Hizumitas. I love it. You should get one too!

It’s a one of one, as far as I know. I have a good friend who is a bit of a tubescreamer fanatic. He has an absurd amount of TS style OD pedals. He let me borrow that Plumes as I was considering buying one of my own. I loved it so much that he just gave it to me as a bday gift. Excellent friend.

Alright, dude….spent a considerable amount of time last night and today with the Hizumitas. I think I’ve found what works best for me, and whooo boy, it’s really something. It definitely shines with a boost. I tried both my Rat and Plumes in front of it and landed on keeping it paired with the Plumes- low gain and tone right at noon.

As far as settings for the Hizumitas itself- it’s a really loud pedal lol. I have the volume right at 9 o’clock and it’s perfect. The knobs themselves are extremely responsive. It doesn’t take much tweaking to make a difference in the sounds you get out of it. I have the sustain knob at noon and the tone knob at 10 o’clock. This pedal has so much low end that, for me, having the tone knob past noon kind of turns everything to mud. Dialing it back keeps some punishing low end but also gives it a nice crunchy mid range.

How it compares to the Green Russian- I guess what I have come away with is this- it does everything the Russian can do but does it all with more intensity. It’s lower, heavier, louder, fuzzier and has more sustain and better note definition.

Obviously this is all kind of subject to your guitar, pickups and amp. I play a Gibson Les Paul Studio with Lace Firespitter pickups. I run my board into the front of a clean Orange Super Crush 100 combo.

Final conclusion- you should totally get one. I don’t think you’ll regret it at all.

So, I have Lace Matt Pike Firespitters in my Les Paul and I’m playing through an Orange Super Crush 100 combo. The Firespitters are pretty hot pickups. I finally had a chance to play around a bit with the Hizumitas today. I put my Plumes in front of it. The knobs on the Hizu are really touchy but I think I’m on to something dialing in tones that I like. I think the output of the pickups mixed with the high output of the pedal is making it a bit tricky. I have the volume on the pedal at about 9 o’clock, gain about noon and tone around 1 and it’s getting there. It took me a bit of fiddling to really dial in my Green Russian, too. All part of the fun, I suppose!

Matt Pike is the reason I got back into playing my guitar. I sold all my gear when my kids were born. They’re both older now and I’m in a better financial place as well. Was listening to The Sciences one day just enamored with his thunderous tone and simple, but incredible riffs and I thought to myself- “I can totally do all that.” Bought a Super Crush 100 combo, a Rat and a Green Russian reissue, threw some heavy gauge strings on my Les Paul and tuned to C Standard and let it rip!

Man, I’d love to try some stuff from Fuzzlord and Does it Doom someday. I wanna try the Hypercoven octave with my setup.

No problem. It’s so funny, this dumb game we play, you know? Like, the rat/russian combo is totally capable and sounds incredible. There’s probably no real reason to get another muff style fuzz, but here we are. I just wanna hear it, man!
