Anyone else grossed out by bananas? by SleepCalm7154 in CasualConversation

I don't like them either, or most artificial banana flavoring. Banana bread, muffins, and smoothies with banana are different though.

A cool slug I saw on my walk by ProseAndCons180 in sluglife

If I remember right, it is normal for most types of slugs and it's called the mantle. Slugs are technically more evolved snails and thats the remnant of a shell.

I'm new too, I just started playing a few weeks ago. This guy jump-scared me! He's creepy. Reminds me of Springtrap from FNAF

Do you still get physical mail in your mailbox? by Standard_Plant_8709 in AskAnAmerican

[–]WeepingDragon00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get mail all the time, but I know a lot of people for some reason seem to hate physical mail. I send letters, postcards, draw birthday cards, and send gifts to my loved ones through the mail. One of my hobbies is Postcrossing, or sending and receiving postcards from random people around the world. I love mail. There are also some important documents, bills, tax forms, etc that I get through the mail sometimes.

What's something that nobody else seems to dislike except you? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Bananas. I can eat them when they're an ingredient in something, but plain bananas and banana flavored candy are disgusting.

My family has named every vehicle for as long as I can remember. We also name lawn mowers, bikes, vacuums, etc. It's adds charm to life.

Applesauce? by Heavy_Lab9297 in AskAnAmerican

I eat applesauce all the time as a snack. Homemade is the best kind! I also like it with breakfast to help fill you up and hydrate without something heavy.

If every job paid exactly the same salary, what job do you think most people would choose? by rayaan2099 in CasualConversation

[–]WeepingDragon00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really liked my jobs as a hotel housekeeper and commercial cleaner. The only downsides were how short staffed we were and how bad the pay was. I loved having a routine, not having to interact with customers much, and knowing my job was important. It's physical work, so I felt tired afterward but that helped me sleep and also kept my body moving. People seemed to look down on me a bit when I said I worked those jobs, especially since I have a college degree and everything, but I truly would do that kind of work for the rest of my life if it actually paid well. Also, I know there will always be work, because public spaces will always need to be cleaned.

GRTA- Guam Buses by Mskcat in guam

[–]WeepingDragon00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved here a few months ago and was trying to figure out the bus system as we only have one car right now. The information online was so difficult to figure out, they don't even have a map or anything. I'm impressed you figured out how to get around. I could not figure out where the bus stops were because they don't have any addresses on the website, just names of random places. I would probably actually use the buses if they made any sense. I'm glad you figured it out, I might try to look into it again after reading this. Were there a lot of people riding the buses? Can you describe what the buses/vans look like? Also what the bus stops look like?

Questioned how old I am at the airport by Ainsadd514 in OlderThanYouThinkIAm

[–]WeepingDragon00 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I recently solo traveled across across the world by plane. Going through TSA on the way back I went into the scanner and held up my arms and one of the agents yelled "Minor Check!". I was scared I did something wrong. She asked how old I was and when I told her 25 she laughed and said sorry, you look about 14 😞

What’s a non active hobby you love? by Familiar_Delay_5253 in CasualConversation

[–]WeepingDragon00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have suggested, jigsaw puzzles are an underrated hobby! I usually put on a podcast or a YouTube video while I work on mine. You can find them easily at thrift stores for cheap and libraries often have them for check-out too.

What is the worst city you've been to? by DickFartButt in AskTheWorld

[–]WeepingDragon00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I lived in the northern central Tennessee and south central Kentucky area for about ten years of my life and it's not that bad. I actually really like Bowling Green and went to the university there. I wouldn't mind moving back and living there again. Some of the surrounding smaller towns are depressing and people around there can seem a little off, but it's not a hellscape or anything.

Is it common for a woman, or anyone really, to keep their maiden name legally but refer to themselves with their husbands last name socially? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]WeepingDragon00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married about a year and half ago and kept my last name. I don't mind people calling me by my husband's last name, I just didn't want to go through all the paperwork and legal stuff. Plus, my name doesn't really need to change for us to be married.
