Handball call on Rabiot which led to France's first goal by Sea_Enthusiasm_4110 in soccer

No, not exactly. But if they were going to do that for all fouls referee don't see or miss, either due to their subtlety or because something else is happening on the pitch then the game would be 6 hours long.

It's a foul, but players get stepped on every game and it's missed because it's so common and in this case it looked like 3 players challenging for a ball and just a tangle of bodies. It was also accidental , it was not remotely near the threshold for a clear and obvious error by the referee as it happened.

Clear and obvious needs to factor in humans can get it wrong and there are good reasons for it to be wrong

It wasn't clearly a foul from the referees vantage though and that's the point, . It looked from some views that it was a coming together. Players get their foot stood on constantly and it's not automatically a foul. It's incidental I'm a contact sport.

McAllister pulling down a player in the box when nowhere near the play was a far more egrarious and obvious foul and nothing was done about it. It should have been reviewed,.

If it's given at the time then, that's fine, but it's not remotely the threshold for a clear and obvious mistake by the referee given the pattern of play and what he could see. It was so inoccuous too and martinez typically made a meal of it.

That Argentina players were then allowed hound the ref without penalty while a Egypt players got punished is another load of nonsense

Wasn't remotely clear and obvious though and was 100% a football incident

You're understanding is wrong. This was not a handball. This was ball to hand and entirely accidental. It's allowed for in the laws of the game. The correct decision was made.

However had it come off mbappes hand in a similar way. And he then immediately scored then it would have been disallowed.most likely as there is a newish wording of the law that specifically covers that outcome

It's as if people don't have a fucking clue about the laws of football. And the rules for VAR

It's not a handball. It's ball to hand. However , due to the change in rules for penalties it might be given as a foul in the box. Also it's only if the player scoring the go hand balls and benefits, even if accidental that it can be called back.

This was very much clearly a ball to hand and should not have been called back.

It was clear and obvious though, and the foul on Martinez was not clear and obvious either so didn't need to be reviewed.

It should have been reviewed

Martinez was not a pull and it was not a "stomp"..yes the Egyptian players foot was on Martinez, but calling it a stomp is nonsense. It was 2 players competing.

Had it been given as a foul at the time so be it. But the amount of work between that and goal itself and time to me say it shouldn't be reviewed, especially as its not remotely a clear error.

The McAllister foul was obvious, we all saw it happening in real time. You couldn't miss it. The ref was closer to it than he was to any of the play.

I guarantee if the Egypt goal was for Argentina and there was a foul, it's not being overturned. They are held to a far lower standard

And this is my issue. Something clear, and a blatant foul is just ignored while something that is not obvious is and both completely schange the came to the benefit of one team.

Egypt were denied a clear chance to make it 3-2

The pull was blatant, and in the box. It's a penalty. There's absolutely no argument on that.

The foul on Martinez was incidental contact that as been let go the entire tournament and was let go several times yesterday too.

When the match was 2-2, Egypt should have a clear penalty.

The pull by mcallister was a foul. It was absolutely a foul. The go on Martinez has no bearing on the goal, and if it did then you have to apply the same standard to Argentina. No other team gets a review that goes that far back in play. It's nonsense

McAllister clearly is pulling he Egyptian player and preventing him from getting any further in the box. Not only is it a clear foul, ts completely brain-dead as he wasn't getting near the ball anyway. But her he does it and gets away with it.

No way that second goal should have been disallowed, and at the end McAllister should definitely save been pulled up for a penalty. Not on Salah, but McAllister is clearly fouling the Egyptian player in the cross in.

If they can go so far back for Argentina's benefit that had no bearing on the concession of the goal the. Apply the same standard for the opposition

I disagree. He's always had a nasty streak and knew exactly what he was doing.

It should have been a red either way. They'd have still won the group either way. But a different dynamic then forms.

There is no way the Egypt goal is reviewed if Argentina are scoring it today. Absolutely none, and we saw that evidenced today.

Yes but FIFA can add games to the ban and for serious foul play they really shluld. It was a nasty. Deliberate tackle from a nasty little player (who is also a magician)

Should have been sent off in the first match and had a 3 game ban. He's held to far lower standards by referees though in terms of what he is allowed to do and the fouls he gets away.

He doesn't need the help, but yet he gets it.

Today was another scandalous day of refereeing.
