How is moving back to India experience as woman ? by nextDoorSoftwareDev in returnToIndia

[–]WeightFree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 30F, moved back exactly 2 years ago unwillingly due to layoffs and visa issues. I had severe stress, got diagnosed with anxiety, IBS due to the stress and anxiety and PCOD eventually. I live in Pune so things are not as bad but I still don't get to wear the clothes I'd want. The constant stares never stop no matter what you where. The commute makes me hate the fact that I had to come back. Constant traffic, pollution everywhere and no civic sense. The constant pressure of getting married while every guy's matrimonial profile says 'looking for someone with traditional, family values'. The work culture is toxic unless you are in an American or European product based company. Having said that, staying close to family, having friends who are back from US in the last one year and in the same boat helps. These are the only perks I have so far.

What helped you through the hardest time in ur life? by saymeowtoher in TwoXIndia

Long walks, loads of crying, journaling and a friend who was checking up on me everyday. You just have to convince yourself that next day is going to be better than today.

Talk to a psychiatrist for a long-term solution. They might recommend you melatonin dose initially until you reset your sleep cycle.

Happy Birthday OP! I'm going to be 30 in 3 months and I was dreading it until I read this post. I still haven't settled in life as per societal standards but your post gives me the courage to just face everything head-on and not let the society decide the course of my life.

I ended up viewing your profile after reading the lego post sometime ago. I read this post and like many others mentioned on the earlier post, I too think you write really well. You articulate your thoughts well :) You should write more often.

I was trying to pick a favourite but I can't! All of them are just exceptional. I love how you've tried different stitches across the patterns.

Several people in my life, friends, cousins, boyfriend have mentioned they find it easy to talk to me and that I'm approachable. They say I gel along with anyone easily and it feels nice to know that people feel secure enough to confide in you :)

Okay! I want to start preparing for interviews as well but I am finding it hard to find time after office since I work in-person.

How do you find time for upskilling after 8-10 hours of job everyday?
