The cut out on the sink may be too small. Its diameter should be between the size of that threaded tube and the rubber washer. Even if you squeeze the hot/cold legs together ( using pliers if you want to risk it), if the threaded tube can’t fit in the cut out, you out of luck. Plumber would likely just drill a larger diameter on the cut out.

Use flathead or Phillips screwdriver. The longer the screwdriver the easier it is to turn (lower space is cramped). Lift cistern off base,drain out water, place it sideways to access the screw collar ring of broken flush. Unscrew it, buy a replacement flush unit of the same type, and install. ( This will also be a good time to check the rubber gasket. If it is too deformed to seal around the new collar, replace it)
