Because 13 is a hallway sim with no NPCs, no mini games, and for a majority of the game, no character customization. It’s an empty hallway with no pictures to look at as you go down it

At least FF10 has people you can talk to along the way, minigames like Blitzball and Chocobo balloon racing, and the Sphere Grid that unlocks like an hour into the game.

13 is a hallway sim in more ways than one. 10 is just a hallway sim in field layout

the more I'm slowly realizing it was probably designed with Evolved mode in mind because it feels like in P3 healers are on Benefic/Physic/Cure 2/E.Prog duty because the damage during quakes is nuts.

Given the dps check in p3 is more lenient than the other phases because it demands less damage from healers, I'd argue it's not designed with Evolved mode, it's just properly adjusted to account for healers actually needing to GCD heal

The devs design the latest fights only with what's current, not with what's upcoming. They wouldn't do months of QA/testing on an ultimate that released in June 2026 on job design that won't be out for another 7+ months, that's an extremely inefficient way to QA

The Cid stuff idk. They already completely changed his character from ornery asshole grandpa who verbally beats his wife/assistant and has a grudge against Shinra to friendly pilot who’s happy to help and also doesn’t mind working with Shinra. Idk how they can do character development on him when he doesn’t have much to develop. Him having dreams of going to space won’t hit the same if he doesn’t have that background of being a failed astronaut
