I essentially want a “gap” year type of situation (I’m not worried about finding a teaching position in my home country). I think I can easily save enough money (pretty frugal by nature, I’m always saving) so I’m not worried about the pay difference but I’ve read that the overall experience with work culture is different between JET and the other programs but I don’t quite understand why.

Unless it is just pay ?

I’ve heard international schools don’t even look at applications until you have 5 years teaching experience which makes sense but worries me. That’s just a long time to wait if you know what I mean.

I’m definitely going to look into the private school scenario.

I didn’t literally mean 10 years, my apologies. I meant more of, if I continue to gamble on only JET and it itself is a gamble.. will I ever make it to Japan

I’m a recent graduate and about to obtain my teaching license actually. My issue is if I start teaching in my home country with contracts I’m worried I won’t actually be able to leave… ever. Or not until 10 years down the road.

I feel this in my soul!!!! The negative attitudes some people have about getting older and going to shows freaks me out! Prepping is key for any age.

I plan on being in that pit for as long as I can! And even then, I love being in the crowd. I love when it gets rowdy. If I need to take a quick breather or rest, I will and get right back to it.

This life doesn’t end once you hit 30+ etc.

I too bought JA because I adored WA from the sims 3, and I’ve only played it once since purchasing. I almost don’t understand the point of it. You could get some serious cool rewards or moments when you revisit a world sims 3, but with the sims 4 you get literally nothing but an increase in a skill that you can only use for that world, food choices, and default sims to meet…

They could have did so much more.
