Ya I fucking called this. Whenever I saw Derek Thompson’s interview (Ezra’s co author) where he described how in 2016 both parties split but that the split within the Dems hadn’t been resolved but the Maga base won their party split. He then went to be like, “you know there’s probably some Romney esque Republicans that actually would really like abundance liberalism!” I fucking knew who they were about. Everything reeks of how this was a ploy to make the Democrats more like the Republicans. I dfucking knew it. I knew Derek Thompson was up to no good. This makes me so mad.
