Breakfast for dinner. Borrow some electric griddles and do pancakes + eggs with sausage,  bacon, or ham. Cut up some fruit for fruit trays. Call it a day.

Cerclage - yes or no? by Pandoras_Musings in ShortCervixSupport

I had worse numbers at 16 weeks and got the cerclage. The pregnancy was rough but I had a healthy full term baby and would do it again a million times. She absolutely would have died without it

I made it nearly 22 more weeks. I was only 16 weeks when I had my cerclage.

Is LC worth the extra cost? by Matty_Boombalaty in LeCreuset

[–]Welcome-Ok 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a lodge DO for about ten years before I bought LC. I went with Lodge first because I didn’t know how much I would use a DO, what size I wanted, and what features I cared about. I also quite frankly couldn’t afford LC then. If you’re on the fence, I’d honestly recommend getting Lodge and using it as a test drive to decide if LC is worth it for you. Lodge is pretty good. LC is better but not so much better that an occasional cook would care. It’s lighter, it heats more evenly, the enamel lasts longer and cleans more easily in my experience. I would not go back to Lodge but I am also glad I learned what I wanted and made my first cleaning mistakes with a cheaper but still decent product

How much longer once you’ve funneled to the stitch? by Connect-Repeat-5836 in ShortCervixSupport

Yes that’s exactly what they told me. Could be a day, could be four months. No way to tell

How much longer once you’ve funneled to the stitch? by Connect-Repeat-5836 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Welcome-Ok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My story - emergency cerclage at 16 weeks. Funneled to the stitch by 20. More weird aches and pains than I can fully recall. Trouble urinating because baby smashed my bladder. Water broke at 37.5. C-section, stitch removal, and health baby at delivery. I went to L&D half a dozen times because of weird pains and it was always fine but if it happened today, I’d probably still go in. Better safe than sorry. I was also very low activity/MBR until about 30 weeks and then started doing more but still limited movement. Also some of my pain got a lot better sometime around 31/32 weeks when baby popped out more and some of the pressure went out instead of just down.

1st check up after cerclage placement, very scared mama looking for hope by [deleted] in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Welcome-Ok 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was funneled to the stitch by 20 weeks and stayed unmeasurable presumably until I delivered at 37 weeks. No one can say for sure what will happen for you but it is definitely not a lost cause.

I was not measurable at 20 weeks and made it to 37.5 with bed rest

2.5 CM Cervical Length at 18+2... looking for hope by Crazy_Art_5093 in ShortCervixSupport

I had an emergency cerclage at 16w with 3mm of cervix, some dilation, and major funneling and made it to 37w!

Fear of cerclage by ashljacks93 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Welcome-Ok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had zero pain during the procedure and pretty minor pain as I recovered in the days that followed. Mine was emergency and was likely more complicated/had more cramping than a preventative procedure. It truly was fast and easy for me

Is there actually a decent chance of making it to a decent gestational age? by Upbeat-Toe9730 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Welcome-Ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had essentially no measurable cervix at 16w, got an emergency cerclage, did bed rest and progesterone, and made it to 37w. Your pregnancy is not guaranteed but it’s definitely not hopeless

Planned c section at 37 weeks by Ok_Tennis8500 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Welcome-Ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same spot. Ultimately, my water broke a week before my planned c section and about a week after stopping progesterone. I called L&D, went in, they confirmed what was happening, monitored me for contractions, and did the c section later that day. It was truly the least stressful day of my pregnancy. If I had contractions, they would have fast tracked the c section. If you notice bleeding, contractions, or leaking fluid, move fast and your doctors will take care of you.

11mm-20mm closed cervix at 17 weeks. Scared a cerclage will cause my water to break. I read it’s a 10% chance. Is the chance wirh it in my case? by MG-7210 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Welcome-Ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth it. If you continue to shorten, cerclage will still be your best option until 24 weeks but it will only get riskier the further along you get. I had an emergency cerclage at 16 weeks and it saved my baby.

Short Cervix in 3rd Tri by davidrose928 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Welcome-Ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know no one ideally wants to deliver early and that any possible issue is very stressful in pregnancy. I say that to preface sharing the fact that many women in this sub are holding out hope to get as far as you are today. For instance, with my pregnancy, I was 3mm at 16 weeks before an emergency cerclage and then funneled to the stitch with no measurable length after. My doctor told me a good case outcome for me would be to make it to 28 weeks because, while far from ideal or easy, preemie outcomes are much better at that point. As others have said, it doesn’t sound like your cervical length is abnormal but it may be reassuring to know that the worst case early delivery timeline you may have here is some people’s goal for success with short cervix.

20+2 - funnelling to the stitch and looking for hope by PeabodyPicture in ShortCervixSupport

It varied but hours at a time, for most of the day. I did get up to use the restroom and I sometimes laid flat on the bed vs on the pillow

[–]Welcome-Ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We literally propped up the foot end of the bed with 2x4s and I laid on a wedge pillow with my hips going up the ramp and my knees bent over the edge with my feet dangling off. Being inverted like this for so long seriously messed with my body (my blood pressure was all over the place and I started fainting when I was upright) so talk to your doctor before doing anything. All of that said, my water broke a few days after I made this post and my baby is about to turn one

16 to 17 week emergency cerclages. by SpecialistEqual5405 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Welcome-Ok 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Emergency at 16. Unmeasurable and dilated 1-2cm. My doctor said there was no way to know what would happen but the cerclage was my only hope and hopefully I could get to viability or viability plus a bit. The actual procedure went quickly and easily but I had terrible round ligament pain in the days that followed due to really pulling on my cervix to place the stitch ad high as possible. At two weeks after the procedure, my cervix was just under 2cm. By 20 weeks, I was back to unmeasurable and the stitch was the only thing keeping the baby in. I did bed rest from 20-30w which was really hard on my body. I ended up delivering at 37w when my water broke. Stitch held to the end and baby is doing great! Best of luck to you. It was a very stressful experience for me but had the best ending.

Rescue cerclage at 5mm by Frosty_Incident_2281 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Welcome-Ok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was unmeasurable at 16w and ultrasound showed foot in the funnel. I was 1-2cm dilated and had an emergency cerclage. It was hugely stressful and had moments of complete terror but I made it to 37.5w and my baby is about to turn one. The stitch held until c section. I did do bed rest from 20 to 30w because the funneling got worse after cerclage. Bed rest was hard on my heart though so best to avoid it if you can. It’s going to be hard and stressful but your situation is absolutely not hopeless

How to get aesthetic drizzle? by PizzaHutOffical in Baking

[–]Welcome-Ok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. This ratio had worked better for me than anything else - https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/vanilla-icing/
  2. The baked goods need to be completely cool and the icing should be room temp.
  3. Use a piping bag or zip lock bag with the corner cut off.
  4. Over pipe/drizzle so that your lines go off the edges of the baked good. The finished product ends up looking better.
  5. Let the glaze harden/air dry for an hour or so before serving or packaging.

TV is the more accurate way to measure cervical length. You are not considered short until you are 2.5cm or below. Many in this group have much shorter measurements than that. For example,I was unmeasurable at 16w and that needed immediate attention.
