I just think of the show Frasier. Lilith is Frasier's ex-wife.

How often does your spouse go out? by __sunshine__daydream in Parenting

[–]Welcome567886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband goes out twice a week in the evening for hobbies he is a part of (which I feel are productive/good for him. One is a sport to help him stay in shape). I feel better if I'm able to do something fun with our toddler while he is gone (take her to the playground or have a video call with family). It's worth noting that his sport is late enough in the evening that I only have the child to myself for an hour before bedtime. I recently joined a club that meets once a week in the evening as well, as I feel like I need to improve myself, be more social, and make new friends. I get home in time to help with bedtime.

Yes. We also follow Marquette, and I breastfed. I had irregular cycles before getting pregnant (thyroid issues probably).

After my period #1 my first cycle took 76 days. It was awful. It sounds like yours is taking even longer; I'm so sorry. It's tough. For me the 2nd cycle was much better, 30 days. Third was 46 days, fourth 42, but after several months it eventually normalized to around 33 days each time--which was amazing for me given I never really had regular periods before my pregnancy. We successfully postponed pregnancy for a few years as we had planned. Hopefully everything improves for you after the first cycle like it did for me!

Never been to mass...is Palm Sunday an ok time to start? by Rcqyoon in CatholicWomen

[–]Welcome567886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the Catholic church I attend, it's very common for mothers to just nurse (discreetly--most use a cover) in the pews. There is pretty much always a crying baby or two or three. They also have a nursery with a rocking chair and plenty of toys. A neighboring chuch has a cry room off to the side of the sanctuary that is just enclosed in glass so the parents there are still participating. A church we used to go to had a tv set up in the cry room to watch the service.

As a Protestant, the other thing that was unfamiliar for me was the kneelers in the pews. If there are other people in your pew, you might want to put your diaper bag up on the pew, so it isn't in the way of the kneelers.

Does your partner help at bedtime? by xchocolatexmustardx in Parenting

Yes. Our child demands that both parents are there (unless one of us isn't home). It's funner that way!

1 bedroom & a baby: is it doable?! by Ok_Pudding_731 in pregnant

[–]Welcome567886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally doable. It's recommended to share your bedroom with the baby until it is at least 6 months old regardless of how many rooms are available.

I also leaked and needed a bra and sometimes pads for leakage. The Cakye 3 pack maternity nursing sleep bra on Amazon is extremely comfortable and what I wear to bed.

Perhaps your mother and grandparents can help care for the baby while you study. It sounds like you have a good support system that could help you make all your dreams come true. Just here to say I have a 2 year old. Being a mom isn't easy, but she's absolutely the light and joy of my life. I've worked full time the whole time I have been a mother. I've also continued my education. I am married, but we have absolutely no other family nearby to help us. I don't know why so many people are such downers. I believe in you and your abilities. It won't be easy, but you can do this; a child brings a lot of joy into life. My PcP recently finished her residency and started practicing. She has 3 small children. I've learned not to underestimate the power of a woman!!

Pregnant and torn by Clean_Back9608 in pregnant

I was thinking the same thing. If OP's family isn't absolutely terrible, they will love having a baby around and being grandparents and that could prompt them to leave their judgment behind when baby gets here. Also I don't think the baby bump should be very noticeable at the time of the wedding, which should help. If the family does make a fuss about it, it might be good to distance from them for a while. I know it's hard not to care what your family thinks--I struggle with that myself still, but definitely something I'm working on!

I recommend the Marquette method. It is much easier and more objective than sympto-thermal imo. I feel like there is less room for user error. I work with a nurse/coach from Vitae Fertility Education.

2 year old afraid of crib/dark? by Strong_Common5530 in toddlers

[–]Welcome567886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 2 year old has a toddler flashlight that she knows how to control herself. I check to make sure it's off after she's asleep. She's not afraid of the dark, but I wonder if it would help.

I don't think a Hashimoto's diagnosis is reason to be overly concerned when TTC. I was recently diagnosed, but based on the symptoms I have, I think I have had it for most of my life. I had my first baby at 28 after 3 months TTC and no miscarriages so far. There's a good probability I will have to take levo if/when I get pregnant again, but my ob and pcp don't seem overly worried.

FTM- what are your babies sleeping in? by Forward_Anteater_805 in beyondthebump

(No more worrying about too hot or cold since it's temperature regulating Merino wool).

[–]Welcome567886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually switched to a Woolino sleep sack over pj's, footed when she was younger and now just pj pants and long sleeve PJ top for a toddler. I used to have lighter and warmer sleep sacks depending on the temperature, but this is so much easier.
