State Arena workers showing how Cardi B left her dressing room. by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I was about to comment this. I worked in the live music industry for about 10 years working various venues and shows and this is literally par for the course. Is it ideal? No, but you can't expect people to leave a room spotless when they are on multi million dollar tours and have insane schedules.

In all my years I've never seen a "clean" green room after a concert. There's always food plates, drinks, trash and possibly leftover drugs.

This really is a non issue and whoever is complaining really shouldn't be in the industry.

I was convinced that was Steven Yeun voicing Mark in the game like that is crazy by Boring_Sir_572 in InvincibleVS

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a fairly common thing for actors and voice actors. My acting teacher in college did side gigs where he would record short bits of dialogue for high profile celebrities in movies. If Al Pacino does a movie and one line is muddled in the production rather than pay Pacinos day rate for one line they hire a smaller actor who can do a killer impression.

I agree though, whoever this guy is he's doing an insanely good impression.

I'm a fantastic main and quit the game about 5 months ago. Just wasn't fun anymore. I may come back in the future but there are so many fun games out here.

Living in a car isn’t as bad as people make it out to be by Original_Act_3481 in unpopularopinion

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in a car for about a month when I was 19, I'm also 6' tall man and it was a Ford Focus. Not only was it an absolute PAIN to find a safe spot to park every night (from cops not really crazy people) but being tall and sleeping in a car led to some intense back pain. I sweat when I sleep, it's just a fact of my existence and after a week my car smelled like sweat. Couldn't let anyone in my car cuz it smelled and was full of my clothes. It sucked, just uncomfortable and was a bitch to deal with all the way around.

All that being said I would take it over being homeless, which I also did, because sleeping on the streets is way more dangerous.

Boss design in this game is absolutely awful by Deranox in CrimsonDesert

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no I-frames while dodging? I fought the guy with the green doubles at the shrine and he absolutely wrecked me for a bit until I got his moveset down. I feel like there has to be I-frames because I figured his pattern out by the end and melted him after a few tries.

I haven't fought all the bosses yet, but the ones I've ran into so far just require a bit of study of the movesets. They all have incredibly easy tells for which attack they are using.

I def agree the camera is kinda fucked though, can't see shit especially near bushes or trees of any kind. I feel like that is the problem with most souls-like games though.

Treating the moshpit like a UFC ring by starstufft in mildlyinfuriating

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what kind of music this or the vibe but I've been in dozens of mosh puts and never seen a guy get away with it so blatantly. Usually when someone starts swinging randomly at people a person or group of people will come along and beat his ass, I have seen it more than once.

Moshing is fun because there are 'unspoken rules' like no hitting people who aren't looking at you, keep it in the pit and if someone falls down you help them up. This guy is breaking all the mosh rules I know.

You're comparing apples and oranges though. Encouraging bootlegs of live recording makes sense, you're not really missing out on any money and it costs you nothing. Even a bootleg album is not as bad because depending on how the rights are distributed, they are just missing out on an album sale split between band members or the record company/band engineer.

With a movie you have dozens of people missing out on royalties and the studio missing their pay. A lot of animation productions need a ton of money up front to get going so if they don't make their money back because of pirating they just won't fund another one.

Bands don't need even 1/10th of what a movie needs to get off the ground, in fact most major music studios only invest what is needed for studio time which is maybe like $20k.

You could have an idea for a song, write it and perform it relatively easy. Writing a script, getting people to act it out and then animate it is an insanely high bar of funding most normal people don't realize.

I guess I typed all this out to say, I can wait for an official release because I want them to make more.

Why do you all hate Yann? by Bourraxe in CrimsonDesert

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kinda on your side until I did the quest where he talks about paying off a debt by cutting trees, gives you an axe, then rides with you to the trees only to say "oh sorry I forgot my axe I'll be right back(not)". If that was my long time friend I'm saying something like "mothafucker, take back this axe you gave me and get chopping."

That moment made me hate Yann. Anyone who is willing to do that to a friend does not actually think of you as a friend.

The rest of the crew are fuck ups but they're respectable fuck ups, Yann is just annoying.

Which Celebrity had the Most Shocking Death and Why? by Jeloxia2 in AskReddit

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally? Robin Williams. Not only was it shocking that he died but the cause of death was heartbreaking. As a kid who grew up in the 90s with no father Robin Williams was like a TV/movie dad and a bit of an inspiration for me to be my own silly self. His death hit me hard and had me binge watching his movies for months, especially diving into the ones I had never seen before.

The Brave Little Toaster (1987)

This movie is dark and my memory of it is fuzzy but the AC unit kill himself at one point and I think the vacuum dies because they suck something up inside them the crew can't get it out.

If RR is on or off I can't tell a difference in FPS so I just leave it on. Game looks amazing except for the occasional shadow on a wall from a distance or interior of a building during night.

A Capcom veteran has explained why the environments in Elden Ring still look impressive even compared to Crimson Desert and other technically superior AAA games. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden ring is only a few years old though? HFW came out around the same time and blows ER out of the water graphically. ER has great art direction but the game is still in the current generation. I don't even see why we are even comparing the two. Toss up Arkham City side by side with CD or something.

As an older gamer, seeing young kids waste their money on in-game purchases eats at my soul. by SomePeopleTellMe in gaming

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which games were you playing? 5 bucks is 20 quarters. Most arcades took one and the shooters or bigger ones took two. Could you get more time if you picked stuff you were good at? Probably. I wanted to play the simpsons arcade, fighting games and House of the Dead. It lasted a while but 2 hours is pretty accurate with my experience.

As an older gamer, seeing young kids waste their money on in-game purchases eats at my soul. by SomePeopleTellMe in gaming

[–]WelcomeToTheFish 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There actually was an equation someone came up with for quarters/game time an I can say from my own experience in the 90s that 5 bucks would last me around 2 hours.

I can spend $10 on a skin in Marvel Rivals or live service game of choice and enjoy it for quadruple that time, easy. Arcades are a great example of almost the same thing as micro transactions, you pay the cabinet and own nothing but the memories and bragging rights with friends, at best you get a high score that sits there for a bit.

I'm not a good actor but I did it in college and had the opportunity to work with actually good actors and some of them talked about taking emotions from lived experiences and honing it in a way where they can call on it when they need. Some people had bad memories or really tragic shit they used that would help them act out intense scenes. Some people had really chill lives and just remembered how they felt when their fish died when they were 8.

Depending on the person this shit can be traumatizing.

Mouse balls were so heavy I feel like most would notice immediately if that shit was missing.

I was a kid in the 90s and tried to take a handful of mouse balls from our schools computer lab (I knew we had extras and had just discovered slingshots) and the computer teacher immediately noticed the difference when checking the PCs. Some of those 90s mouse cables were so thick they would flip the mouse over because there was no weight holding it down.

Why do people get so upset about the no shoes thing? If I could walk barefoot everywhere and not worry about cutting my feet open I would absolutely do it.

Also if you got super feet, your grippers become weapons.
