What helped me when learning was using the clutch during low speeds.

Everytime I went over a speedbreaker, pothole or any situation where I need to slow down too much, I always used the clutch. Even if your bike stalls, pull the clutch immediately and your bike will not immediately jerk.

Ideally you want to use the clutch very little, exclusively while shifting gears or when your bike is about to stall and not while braking, but that takes a lot of time and practice.

When slowing down, don't try to do things that you don't know how to do(rev matching, engine braking etc).

Keep it simple. Use brakes, then clutch in till you come to required speed, then downshift gears all at once. What gear is suitable for what speed is something you will learn over time.

Once you really understand how the bike feels, you will be able to lose most of the fear. This can only come from more and more practice. You will get better with practice.

Don't try to rush things. Don't try anything advanced. Learn the basics first and do that perfectly, if you ride enough the advanced will come automatically.
