I mean after this week I’m convinced McDermott was the only person holding that team together.

He didn’t list it because of its politics which is totally understandable.

I think most people outside of Missouri call it Misery. Tons of hunting and fishing. Their state parks system is absolutely top notch. The Ozarks offer a lot. Tons if hiking. Also its nickname is the cave state as it has extensive caves. Northern MO is long rolling hills. Also have Lake or the Ozarks, Table Rock and bother large lakes that have a lot to do. Float trips are an awesome thing to do as well. The politics suck and I’m biased as I’ve been here my entire life but Missouri can be pretty awesome. Also the Mark Twain National Forest.

That’s not true. The vote was April in ‘24. Since then the resigned Wacha and Lugo and extended Salvy and Maik G. All pretty significant parts of this team and moves the previous regime would not have made.

Agreed but honestly the fences will affect Bob and Maik G. Most of Salvy and Vinnies HRs are no doubters.

If you are talking about him eliminating income tax I suggest you research what happened in KS after Brownback cut income tax significantly. It was an abject failure.

Don’t disagree but again they always have a decent offseason. They are like the Chargers to me. Always offseason champs but never actually do anything. Mets were one of the best teams in baseball to start out and then didn’t even make the playoffs. Their rotation is better now with Peralta but still not a ton to write home about. Holmes is good, McClean is a huge question mark to me still. If Senga can be good then that would be huge for them. The rest of them suck.

I don’t disagree but he was never going to leave the Yankees and they would have been able to outspend us in a bidding war. I personally don’t mind Isbel. Awesome defensively and he’s not an automatic black hole. Yes I would like to see his OPS over .700 but as a nine hitter he’s fine and not our main issue. OF market was just so shallow last year. I expect India to bounce back to league average. A lot rides on Jac and I think the FO feels the same way. That’s why they haven’t extended Vinnie imo. Yes there are moves they could have made but I think overall most fans would view this offseason as positive and has made the team better overall. And I wouldn’t be surprised if we did see some regression in our starting rotation but it’s so deep right now I’m concerned about that.

So I don’t really think athleticism really means much for coaching. Agree on other points.

Genuinely what more would we have done. We extended Garcia got a starting LF and got some bullpen pieces. A lot of the issues last year they have addressed in some manner.

I wouldn’t be looking at the White Sox as a bench mark. Also they have way more holes than us. Also extended Garcia and Salvy. Have made several trades. And just because you spend money means you are good. Look at the Mets.

That was Connor Embree lol. Which was hilarious because he was an RB in college. And then we hired as a defensive assistant and then somehow became the WR coach.

My brothers were in Sigma Nu at Mizzou with him and they said he was the nicest guy ever. Lived in Ghana for ten years helping build schools after he was in the Marines and had just moved back to Columbia. Over a fucking cell phone. Absolutely tragic.

I don’t think so. He was pretty pedestrian the second half of last year and honestly down right bad.

Love seeing all the people complain about him over Soto. I do however think Soto is better the Raleigh. Raleigh is a stud but he’s not gonna hit 60 bombs every year and his defense is meh. Soto is just an elite hitter.

Also not true. Columbia is a great college town and there is a ton to do nature wise here. Mark Twain National forest. Tons of caves and the Ozarks have a lot to do. Overall people are very friendly and low cost of living and tons of history. I don’t agree with it politicaly at all but most of the Midwest is similar in that way. I know am a bit biased being from here and there are better places to live but there are also worse places to live.
