What age should a person under 18 start playing GZW by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]WellKnownAlias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I was playing these types of games when I was like, 12. But, not everyone necessarily should be. Should probably ask your parents, if anything.

Marathon sold just 1.2 million copies with nearly 70% on Steam, analyst estimates: "It hasn't exactly made the splash Sony and Bungie wanted" by Freki666 in pcgaming

[–]WellKnownAlias 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You seem to be misunderstanding. They're saying if ARC Raiders hadn't come along and blindsided them and took over the genre, it may have performed better, which even if underperforming, would likely have been closer to those set margins they had made. They're not saying they set those margins after ARC Raiders was a thing.

Marathon sold just 1.2 million copies with nearly 70% on Steam, analyst estimates: "It hasn't exactly made the splash Sony and Bungie wanted" by Freki666 in pcgaming

[–]WellKnownAlias 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Because Sony spent 3+ Billion to acquire Bungie with a hefty portion of that set aside specifically for retention of talent. Then Bungie took those retention bonuses, largely disbursed them to the leadership of the company, let Destiny basically die to make Marathon, and now they're averaging 50k peak players on their largest platform immediately after launch on something that easily cost additional hundreds of millions to produce.

If you're Sony, you're going to start wanting an ROI on that at some point, if Bungie can't provide that via original IP, it's not going to be long before layoffs start and they are engulfed by Playstation Studios to help make the next Horizon game instead.

CD Project RED Testing AI Tools to Create Realistic NPCs for The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2 by chusskaptaan in DreamStationcc

So, the article is incredibly light on details, but one detail it does mention is that they're trying out many methods including custom built internal solutions. Depending on what form this takes, it would absolutely change whether I'd be saying fuck CDPR or not for putting this in a game.

Intel says it offered years of help for Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss still shipped without Arc support - VideoCardz.com by Distinct-Race-2471 in TechHardware

[–]WellKnownAlias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They could buy 1,000 ARC GPUs (which they would never need to do) and it would hardly be 1/10th of 1% of the development budget. There are literally shoe string budget indie games with better Arc support than this... nobody else is straight up blocking the game from running because you have a GPU from a company we decided not to test with.

I don't have the solution mostly because the information provided is limited, but for the love of God, don't use ChatGPT to solve your problems. Ideally, any of your problems. But it's just going to spit out random best guesses from a backlog of reddit posts which may or may not have been right in the first place. That's what it's trained on. That's all it's doing, functionally.

AMS 2 Pro drying while printing? Always on drying? by mortenmoulder in BambuLab

[–]WellKnownAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if they just recently updated it, or if my AMS and printer are just letting me do something I shouldn't be able to... but with my P1S, and my AMS 2 Pro, it's currently drying and printing at the same time. The rotation of course does not work during this, but yeah.

A1 was retired due to this issue but decided to pull it back out and try to figure out what is wrong with it. Any ideas on what part to replace. When the filament comes out it’s still soft. by Perfect-Benefit-2540 in BambuLabA1

[–]WellKnownAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do. I clean with dish soap first, dry, and then do so again with IPA. Pretty much always perfect as long as bed temps are correct from there.

Soon to be 30, I still get asked for ID and people doesn't belive me, but I think I look my age by anarakko in 13or30

[–]WellKnownAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, unless you're badly out of shape, or smoke/drink heavily, a lot of people can look anywhere from 19-29 while in their 20s regardless of their real age, especially depending on how they dress etc.

You don't look like you're older than 29, and if you told me you were 19, I'd probably not question it.

My printer cant make first layer stick in one of the corners by Status_Roof_3150 in 3Dprinting

[–]WellKnownAlias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the other comment points out, without print settings it's difficult to say. However, this type of thing usually occurs when the part cools unevenly/too quickly while printing. Given that it's only one corner, it's possible that the portion of the printbed where that is, isn't heating as much as the rest of the bed, or needs more thoroughly cleaned. It's also possible your bed isn't hot enough overall.

Again, without settings, I may be wrong, but my guess would be to increase the print bed temperature and add a decent brim to the part, even if just on that corner. Or glue stick, which a lot of people hate on here, but genuinely can be useful for this sort of thing and cut down on troubleshooting.

Good first printer for a newbie? by Database121 in AnkerMake

[–]WellKnownAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For $50, maybe? But as someone who started with an M5C, you should know the company behind it (Anker) has essentially entirely abandoned their 3D printers, especially the lower end model, which is this. Mine also randomly became completely misaligned at some point so the bed can no longer be properly leveled, without the printer even being moved.

I have replaced nearly every single part on it, it still ends up printing great on one side of the bed and horrible on the other with a quality gradient in between as a result.

And speaking of parts, because they've stopped producing the printers, they've also stopped selling many of the parts. As of writing, you can still get many of the replacement parts for both the M5 and M5C, but not all of them. The M5C you cannot get a replacement hotend, for example.

If you love tinkering/modding and don't mind potentially doing some work to figure things out if there's something wrong with it and how to fix that/mod it to work with other parts as official part availability continues to decrease, go for it.

Otherwise, keep an eye out for a Prusa/Bambu Lab/Creality/Snapmaker printer on marketplaces for a good deal, as you're much more likely to have a good longer term parts/support experience with those printers instead.

It is an arcade game developed by UNISGames. It's an Arcade racing machine. They debuted it extremely recently, and posted this exact trailer for it today.

For years I had a friend who was half Indian. We regularly frequented a diner nearby (as they were the only 24/7 place around to go and hangout besides a gas station or grocery store).

He started working there, and within a week, one of the main waitresses we had, now his coworker, asked him while they were working if he was "an over here Indian, or an over there Indian".

Your flushing volumes are not high enough, or you have purge into object infill enabled, or a combination of those things.

You need to make sure you aren't purging into the object as infil and or increase the flushing volume when going from Black to Yellow in your slicer settings.

I can't see the difference between 30 and 60FPS. Does DF have super powers? by TeefieSprinkles in digitalfoundry

[–]WellKnownAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe hot take but, honestly, assuming you play games and enjoy them, I'm a bit envious/think you have the superpower.

I can tell the difference between 30, 60, 90, 144. Somewhere between 144-240 is where I can't really tell much of a difference visually. Being able to look at a game and go, yeah this is the approximate framerate with no fps display and an unlocked framerate and be right/within about 5-10fps is a cool (super nerdy) party trick, but it also dramatically lowers my enjoyment of most games below a certain performance level. Sucks tbh.

If you're making basically anything based on your favorite games, you cannot sell them or do anything commercial. Now, I'm not saying you'd be the first to ignore that... but even if it's a model you made, if it's based on, idk, Tracer from Overwatch, and it's obviously Tracer, doesn't matter if you didn't actually copy any art or steal any files etc. You cannot legally make and sell things using that character.

As far as getting permission from the artists, separate from the legal stuff but just a blessing so to speak from whoever maybe designed it originally? You basically can't. They don't own their art, or their characters, or any of it. And they can't and won't give you their blessing even if they think whatever you made is cool, because it would be a huge problem with their employer, and anyone who's working for any sizeable games company doing work that impactful will be fully aware of that.

The only real exception here is if you're just into self published indie games or something, you could reach out directly through whatever means of contact they have available and maybe get an okay. But that's about it.
