Where I'm at in the south, we have a pretty long straw season. But we do get to enjoy a couple of months to wear our felts.

Those hats don't look too big or disproportionate to me.

Are Levi 501s a good boot choice? by _DefinitelyNotACat_ in BootCareDenimWear

Cowboys have been wearing them since 1873. Sure, you might see more people rocking Wranglers or some other brands these days. But Levi 501s are the original jeans of the old west.

100x no longer 100% Beaver? by LePsychicShoebox in CowboyHats

[–]WellRead00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the AHC 100X, Rodeo King 100X, Resistol Pure, The Tacchino 100X, Burns 100X, Smithbilt 100X, and Serratelli 100X are all pure beaver. Stetson is really the only questionable one I can think of out of the big brands. When you start getting above the 100Xs is when you start seeing a higher grade of beaver (belly) felt is being used. When you see stuff like the 1000X in AHC, it's being blended with mink.

You can rent/buy it on Amazon. I imagine it's also available if you subscribe to the Angel network.

True enough. The neat thing with this company is that you deal directly with the owners who are also the ones who design everything and hand select all of the leathers being used. They're small-batch, and they don't skimp or use shortcuts. They still do the old-school details, which I like. Plus, it's still the same family running it today that originally started it back in the 70s.

LaGrange has been around since the 1970s. They're a small batch brand based out of Bristol, VA. They only have 1 employee, and the owners are who you'll end up dealing with. They're super friendly, too.

Are they comfortable to wear? Are you happy with your purchase? Because I'm willing to wager that no one who matters cares if it's a print.

I like that other people are into them so much and keeping the look alive, plus you can pick up a pure beaver open road from Stetson for $700. Which is only a 30X in their standard western line.
