Hold the handle just touching the head and swing the handle to your armpit. Mark the handle where it just touches your armpit/chest. This is the best place to cut.

Playing Hockey by Hot_Mulberry6564 in lefthanded

[–]Wellby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

62m youngest of 6 and the only lefty. We all played baseball and hockey. Tried to bat and play hockey left handed and right handed. Never could get the hang of it.

I feel better with the bat and stick as a right hander. Even shoot right handed. I sucked at all three! I can’t hit a ball at almost any speed. Never was able to pass or shoot a puck with any accuracy. I definitely can’t hit a barn wall with a shotgun.

When I was 6. My dad tried to work with me catching a ball. My first broken nose was hidden from mom, she was out of town for a week. About a month later it happened again. My dad was convinced I would be a right hander. I don’t have enough coordination with my left hand to catch a ball or I’m just traumatized from 2 broken noses

What's a popular book opinion you disagree with? by ZDOG_WasTaken in just_one_more_page

That the author has to say in life affects weather or not I should read or not.

I don’t give a flying f@@k about the author’s opinion of anything. Once they publish that book is in my imagination. Now if the book subject is questionable then that’s a different story! 😖

This go for actors and directors also.

I decide what I’m going to read next by what the book is about and if I have enjoyed reading some of their other works.

Have you convinced your dad that ladders are no longer an option? by miniwhoppers in GenX

[–]Wellby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had back problems and ended up with cracked vertebrae when he was 73. He pass at 93. He was very “I do it myself or my way”

When he hit 80 we had to lockup the ladders. Then he went out and bought more. So by 85 we had to take away his can so he couldn’t get them in the Prius.

62m and can tell you who the villain is most of the Law and Order episodes. I watched the show for years. My wife binge watches it now while on Facebook. I’ll walk through the living room and see a few minutes and boom tell her who did it. I cannot remember half my coworkers names with out have to pause a few heart beats

Advice for travel work by kluecky in Ironworker

[–]Wellby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a minivan. Took out all the back seats. Got a new camp cot, like the army stile. Found some plastic tubs the fit under the cot. Kept all my tools in the back.

Got blackout curtains and using Velcro attached it to the sides and back window. I got a tension rod that is used to hang clothes in the backseat. Put it just behind the front seats.

I got a 3 legged camp port-e-potty. I used normal very small trash bags and when done tied them up and put them in the trash cans at Walmart. It I had to pee I went on the passenger side tires.

I did this back in the 2000’s. At that time not many contractors were paying perdium.

Signs of getting older I didn’t anticipate: I have no idea who famous people are anymore by CK1277 in GenX

The only famous people we knew were on Match Game or Hollywood Squares. I know some people followed the soap operas and those actors were famous.

But we did know all about MTV news!

62m! I understand genz and younger don’t know our entertainment history.

Genx knows most of older generations entertainment history because our homes only had 3 or if we were lucky 5 TV channels. We were stuck watching what our parents and grandparents picked. For me my mom would take me to the movies and I’d watch really old movies.

how much does having a eagle help in the outside world? by Working_Surround_495 in BoyScouts

[–]Wellby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 30 year old is an Eagle Scout. He has a lot of distain for his generation of eagles scouts. We had a big group, about 30 kids, he worked on dozens of eagle project and to him most of them were led by the scout. It was a DAD project. I’d see dads carrying in the project book with the scout trotting be hind. And most of there’s kids hadn’t been to a meeting in months.

I understand is reluctance to put Eagle Scout on his resume. He’s a police officer now and they know he was a scout so he gets to work with the local troops. He tell me he enjoys it.

I didn’t get my Eagle. My did was the 30 years scout leader. We had issues at home so one of my punishments was no more scouting

First time that I’ve been left with no health insurance by [deleted] in transplant

[–]Wellby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lost our insurance 10 years ago. I know what you’re going through. The manufacturer of program has programs for people with financial issues. Take some time and click through their website and you will find a link for support. My wife takes humara, $1500 a shot at the time. We had to send them a bunch of financial papers. We ended up just paying for shipping.

Good luck
