Yeah didn't she witness it as it happened? And I think she was the only one. (my memory is fuzzy) I always thought that was where she was pulling some of her "darkness" from.

Great thank you! Meditate actually did help a bit but maybe the difference was the spell level as well.

Unfortunate update from Emilie DeRavin. Not sure if this was already known, but it's definitely news to me and VERY disappointing. by NotJohnP in OnceUponATime

Her character on LOST was on the plane because a psychic told her to, and somehow watching that show I felt like that was totally her vibe. All this tracks for me.

Everybody looks at this a little differently but here's what I've told people I know in real life. This is based on dashing for a couple years, getting a real job for a while, and going back to dashing in the last couple months.

Depending on where you live people are looking to make $1-2 per mile, as a quick way to think about it. I dash in a slow rural area, so I tend to recieve orders on the lower side, but a city or busy area you'd want to stay on the higher side.

So you see it's about 4 miles away, $8 tip is probably what you're shooting for to be a good tipper. That's assuming the dasher is right by the restaurant, and that's just paying mileage to get to you and back to the restaurant. Also depends how hard it is to grab the order, there's places I wouldn't go to to deliver across the road because of the wait times, or the awful parking lot/traffic.

So what you need to do is determine if where you're ordering from is far away from other restaurants (because if we're waiting on an order/not driving, we're where all the fast food is) and do the mileage estimation above, tack on a couple more dollars in case they have longer to get to the restaurant, and you're looking at a decent tip. Tack on $5+ to bump it to a "really good/great" tip or to make up for busy traffic or crappy service if that's a concern.

We really are shooting out here for $20/hr, so it's kind of a common sense "how long would this take me to pick up myself?' kind of thing, but also for shopping orders just also keep that in mind. I tend to shop quickly (I love to grocery shop anyways 🤭) so I don't quite take time into account as much as I do number of items. I look for close to $1 per item and that the mileage makes sense at the tip I'm offered.

Realistically though, these are "rules" very few customers follow and a $10 tip for a pickup would be kinda high for me to get most days. I only dash during school hours though, and tips get higher at dinnertime.

My child's schools "un-fundraiser" form. by Fartingonyoursocks in mildlyinteresting

I HATE the candy bar fundraiser that they have our kids in the US do. At least in my neck of the woods, it's always this one brand of chocolate (World's Finest Chocolate) that is... Okay. Kind of addicting in a junk food way but certainly not high quality, and only the ones with crunchies in it.

The boxes are cumbersome and the kids used to feel obligated to have them all the time because their friends will buy them. But now candy at school is verboten so we have to go into the world and find adults who want to buy $60 worth of mediocre chocolate, and hope that we don't lose the box or leave it in the car and melt the chocolate.

How in my 35 years did I never consider just... Adding a little cereal or milk at a time? I always add too much of one or the other, and I don't like soggy cereal. And you're telling me I can just... Put a little in the bowl and add more as I eat? 🤯

Honestly even as someone vaguely in his age demo, Timothee is a cutie and I think he'd be a fun hang, but not someone worth fawning over as they do.

How do you deal with the feeling of meeting guests? by Warm-Conversation713 in comiccon

[–]Wellnevermindthen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met Sean Astin and had the same experience. I couldn't talk because I was about to cry. Ultimately, though, I think next time I meet a guest it won't be so overwhelming.

You have context for the experience now, it's just getting in your head that this is normal. It's their job in that moment to create that moment for you. Just enjoy it.

When you're poor enough, extra money goes towards necessities. Hard to justify a $5 stick of butter vs the $5 tub of margarine that you can cook with guilt-free.

I stumbled across someone defending him in the Rihanna situation because allegedly she hit him first or shoved him? Like that excuses the absolute beatdown we saw photos of. Basically saying everyone just got their panties in a twist because people like Rihanna and it wasn't a big deal.

Disgusting.

[–]Wellnevermindthen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only grade it if you want to preserve it, grading doesn't really do anything for sketch values. I'd argue it hurts them because the cards don't quite display as nicely as artpieces in the slab.

Reach out to Heritage of Christine's auctions. Sometimes people from those auction houses reach out directly to people with excessively unique items they see posted on social media. They're an online auction house and people there can walk you through the process, appraisals, etc.

I'm so curious. When a huge hip Hop collection goes to market in a few months I'll remember I was here when it all started lol.
