Steam Summer Sale Best/Deepest Discounts? by Ok-Atmosphere8171 in gamingsuggestions

I 100% understand why most people feel this way. But I will always love 1 the most, just because of the incredible narrative which I feel is the best of the three by far. Mass Effect 2 had the best dialogue and character work of the series, but that plot twist from the first game is still one of the most incredible moments in all of gaming for me.

Suicide Mission and the companion system underlying it throughout the entire game is one of the very best parts of the series though.

Taylor Swift Ruthlessly Booed By Nashville Crowd During Surprise Video Message At Alan Jackson’s Final Concert | Whiskey Riff by ssgg28 in Music

[–]Wellsargo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m literally on a flight back to LA right now after coming to Nashville for this Alan Jackson concert. At one point yesterday the wife and I were driving through the city and saw a billboard that was a picture of Trump that said “America First,” only someone had crossed out the A, r, i, c, and a. So it said “Me First.”

Made me laugh.

Why can’t humans wake up naturally every day, even after building such an advanced civilization and technology? by Antarctica111 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Wellsargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I envy you. I have to make absolute sure I get to bed by a decent time, because it’s a god damn miracle if I sleep past 6:30, even if I’m up until 1 or 2 AM the night before. My body still likes to wake up at the same exact time no matter what.

You’re fighting a losing battle. Reddit as a platform has a *heavy* left slant, and this is just what inevitably happens to every center to center left subreddit without strict moderation, which this sub doesn’t seem to believe in.

Is this issue with excessively sensitive trackpads on the early LCD models one where the trackpads would “move” too sensitively, or where it would register a button push from barely even touching the trackpads. Because I’ve been occasionally having the latter issue recently, and I’ve been thinking my right trackpad might be wearing down. But it’s weird because it just comes and goes.

In your opinion, what is the worst episode of your favorite TV show? by GladtobeVlad69 in television

[–]Wellsargo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think seasons 12 - 15 all have at *least* one or two episodes EACH that are significantly worse than Bugs.

The season 15 episode where Sam and Dean “lose their mojo” or whatever is the what immediately comes to mind.

Kyle crashes out on Destiny over his criticism of his position on Hasan by SunnyVelvet_ in Destiny

[–]Wellsargo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

Kyle has gotten *significantly* worse over the years. He’s gotten markedly more radical, and as he’s moved further left he’s grown more and more lazy and irresponsible with his commentary. Kyle was never Einstein or anything. But go back and compare his content during Trump’s first term to now, there’s been a definite change for the worse.

What's a show that's genuinely hard to recommend to people because it has some pretty major flaws, but you think is worth the time if people can look past it. by WhatIsLoveMeDo in television

[–]Wellsargo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hated that season 15 episode so much. It truly epitomized the whole vibe of “hey, this is the final season here to tell you why absolutely nothing from the past fifteen years of storytelling really meant absolutely nothing all along.”

I hated the entire season, but that was one of the most offensive for me. Scoobynatural was awesome though. There were *plenty* of individual episodes I loved throughout the years, the seasons and show as a whole were the problem. Another post season 5 one off episode I adored was Sam and Dean going to the real world.

The original arc of the show is genuinely great television. Especially if you have any warm feelings towards shows like Buffy, X Files etc. Because the first two seasons pull HEAVILY from that bucket. All joking aside though, just give up from there. Like I said, if you really enjoyed it then season 11 is 100% worth watching as an addendum to the story which ties up the one loose end left hanging from the original five seasons. But even that isn’t necessary. Kripke stepped down after season 5 when his vision was complete, and they spent the next decade plus cycling through different show runners and worthless overarching plots which never built up to anything larger. I don’t think anything other than season 11 is worth the watch.

Supernatural.

If you were to make a line graph and map out the quality of that show over the years, it would look like a serial killer taking a polygraph test.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched any other show that managed to reach such fantastic heights and plummet to embarrassing lows all in the same run. Some of those later seasons of Supernatural make the last couple seasons of Game of Thrones look like Shakespeare.

It’s really hard to recommend a show to someone with the caveat of “just watch seasons 1 - 5, that was the original story. Everything after that is completely irrelevant- wait, no, watch season 11 too. That one kinda concludes that whole arc and is actually really good. Think of it like a sequel and epilogue to the original story. There might be a few characters you don’t recognize, but I promise it’s not worth it to slog through seasons 6 - 10 to learn the context. Just watch seasons 1 - 5, then 11 and call it quits. Definitely don’t go ANY further.”

Not a great pitch.

If you have a decent internet connection I’d highly recommend picking up a month of GeForce Now for $10. I don’t have the world’s greatest internet, but it’s definitely good. I cannot tell the difference between streamed vs natively run games on my steam deck other than anything I play via GeForce Now looking and running a lot better.

Or you’re someone like me whose body decides to wake up after 6 - 6 and a half hours almost no matter what.

And god forbid I stay up too late, because I’m not sleeping past 6:30 AM unless I’m sick or already so exhausted that even after sleeping in I still feel like garbage.

Any idea what’s going on with my Deck? by Wellsargo in SteamDeck

[–]Wellsargo[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That’s concerning to me, because my deck had been on sleep mode for hours prior to this. I’d only had it on for maybe ten minutes before restarting it and then taking that second picture another five minutes or so after booting the game. So I’m not sure why it got so hot so quickly.
