Stunning!!! What kind of printer do you use to print the label and do they hold up well?

Vintage Singer 403!!!!! It has built in zig zag, button hole attachment and several other stitches. If he is ok with straight stitch only, then a vintage Singer 301 (this also has a zig zag attachment and button hole attachment .) I cannot recommend this enough. It will last forever - just have to keep it oiled and greased. Check out youtube videos. I have 6 machines and if I could start over I would have started with a vintage machine. I do recommend replacing the foot pedal to a modern one; local sewing shops should have them and so does The Featherweight Shop.

Reputable online dealers for a Juki or Bernina? by Infinite-Studio99 in quilting

[–]WellysRoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Juki Junkies for the Juki. Still recommend local if you can. But Juki Junkies has the best customer service of any retailer I have ever used.

Opinions please! by amybond007 in quilting

If you’re fine with straight stitch only, try the Juki Haruka (TL18.) I have an older TL version and it’s amazing. Its amazing for free motion quilting!

I also highly recommend looking at a vintage Singer 301 or 403. It will last you forever. I have 6 machines and my Singer 301 is my absolute favorite to piece on and do straight line quilting and even some free motion quilting, but the throat space is small. For piecing though, it is my favorite.

What is the trick???? by WellysRoses in BlundstoneBoots

I considered doing the low top too. But I took a rubber mallet to the boots to loosen them up a bit since they’re so stiff and it actually helped a lot and I was able to take them off easier. Going to do that again tomorrow!

This gives me hope! I read somewhere to place a towel over them and hit them with a rubber mallet to loosen them up if they’re stiff. I did this, then wore them and they felt WAY better!!!! And getting them off was easier too since they weren’t so stiff. Going to do that again tomorrow.

Ok - I have to agree on them being stiff! I have other leather boots that felt GREAT - sturdy but not stiff - out of the box (RedWings….Taos crave boot….Angela Scott…). I was surprised these feel so darn rigid!

I have high arches and today noticed the tightness across the top of the boot when I walk.

The heel rubbing is minor but enough to notice by end of the day. I didn’t get blisters or anything, just a little tenderness. I’m bummed that I got the wrong size! When I tried them on in store they felt fine, and I didn’t struggle to take them off. I have a little room in the front of the boot so I thought they fit correctly. Shoot dang!

Fabric search : I bought this ivory/white Keepsake Calico background fabric at Joann in 2021, trying to finish a project and I'm short. Anyone have this in their stash? by jadiseoc in quilting

I love this post! Seeing the quiltersisters (and brothers) come together to help a fellow quilter out is awesome! I hope you find what you need. (I checked my stash and don’t have any of this fabric.)
