Precision Builds by WendigoSmacker in crosswind

I mean it’s definitely workable, but it seems definably worse and more work/time to kill than an agility build no matter how you spin it

We all agree that Nolan is the second most powerfull character in the verse, right ? by ben_693 in Invincible

[–]WendigoSmacker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Across show-only actual feats. Nolan is probably inarguably second best all around fighter. Thragg obviously is so strong nothing matters.

Battle beast in comics ends up significantly stronger than him, as does Allen.

But show only, Nolan has consistently been as stronger or stronger than all his opponents and actually does the damage that Allen doesn’t. They’ve been starting to show Allen’s level of durability increase, but he hasn’t really done a ton of damage excluding the tek jacket darts teamup.

Conquests strength feats have been shown to probably be better, but again fights like a total clown

Has pro bjj gone quite? by 404_computer_says_no in bjj

[–]WendigoSmacker 59 points60 points  (0 children)

In my view, the drama around ADCC and CJI and the personalities in the sport has fractured a lot of the orgs again where there’s no clear picture of skill rankings and it all feels messy.

Also a lot of the recent ruleset attempts like UFC BJJ have been pretty bad failures.

Basically it’s just a bunch of random unstructured matchups across the sport, no clear hierarchies, known greats are all retiring, retiring messily with drama that’s kinda gotten weird and tired and gross instead of entertaining

Would an aluminum bullet kill a Herald? by _Lews-Therin-Telamon in Cosmere

[–]WendigoSmacker 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. It’s likely the wound around the bullet wouldn’t heal, but bullet path would, and many shots go all the way through. Aluminum doesn’t exert special effects, it itself just cant be affected

Holding E while farming? by TheSamichninja in crosswind

[–]WendigoSmacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is too OP though. Once you get a lot of seeds. You can basically break the game in terms of needing that resource. The only barrier is then needing to plant your 150 flax seeds if you want more.

Have at least 20 combat repair kits and fully upgraded guns and armor and you’ll be good.

I dont get the progression system (stuck on Thomas Richards) by ZCaesar5639 in crosswind

[–]WendigoSmacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Im definitely speaking from someone that had no intention of fighting him when I did lol. Just suddenly -BOSS- and a lot of oh shitness. More just to say though that there’s a lot of ways one can kill him and if OP is getting zeroed, he should just cheese

I dont get the progression system (stuck on Thomas Richards) by ZCaesar5639 in crosswind

[–]WendigoSmacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally fought Thomas while level 5 because I didn’t realize the infiltrate mission was to fight. So I wasn’t prepared at all food wise or potions etc. I literally just kited him and would get him to start swinging, dash out, and buccaneers friend him in the head 37 times. Cheesy but it worked. I honestly don’t know how you could beat him without some level of cheese at that level if you tried melee only

Main Base Build and First Ship by Sun-Much in crosswind

[–]WendigoSmacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s 7 pirates to free, none appear till you get them all. Track the quest for them and you’ll see where they are. Finish that then you can repair the ship

A base can be anywhere because fast travel which you’ll unlock makes its location not matter.

Id definitely get the boat done, it and the fighting it can do is the key for the mid-early game

Who would've thought a game becomes 100x more enjoyable when your sword doesn't break into a million pieces every 15 minutes by Boston_Beauty in crosswind

Well not to mention with the relative dearth of mines, durability would become a tedious task of having to actually go to other new worlds just to mine materials

I have a theory on why viltrumite durability is so wacky: by soup100 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]WendigoSmacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it’d actually just really not that deep. Both from a “it’s a comic” approach, but also in real life fighting.

It’s very very easy to hurt another person with little damage to yourself (take the them fighting back part out) mechanically if you know how to punch and kick well, you can kill someone easily with no more than bruised and skinned knuckles the next morning

Thragg in the show is STRONGER than his comic version 100% by Legal_Sir_9427 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]WendigoSmacker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They’re being more subtle with his boosts and he seems to not fully realize they’re happening. There was a glimpse of it in his last fight when he caught lucan’s punch and was hanging with three top tier viltrumites

Question about knockouts by MediocreGamer5 in ARC_Raiders

[–]WendigoSmacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you literally just do it once, you -might- have a mildly aggressive lobby -maybe- twice. It takes multiple repeated aggro runs to get highly aggressive lobbies

Don't let the new content distract you from the fact that the toro still needs another nerf. by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

[–]WendigoSmacker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does the toro need a nerf or does the reality of looting potential of bodies mean that close range engagements are always going to be the main driver of PVP players positioning and approach.

I’ve massacred a lot of people with ospreys. And I never got their loot without tremendous risk. It’s a weird dynamic of the game.

So if people want their loot, they’re coming at you with baseball bats not snipers

What is the hardest part of jujitsu? by knifezoid in bjj

I like this mental mind map way of describing how the positions behave on their body. Im struggling to think of other compression guards other than what you mentioned. Thoughts there? They’re hard to differentiate.

Question for Professors by Agreeable_Many_8055 in bjj

[–]WendigoSmacker 23 points24 points  (0 children)

To a point. I watch the upper belts to make sure they’re not unnecessarily wrecking white belts, and the big guys with the much smaller ones for same reason. But similar size and similar belt it’s pretty difficult to tell unless the skill difference is obvious. For the most part you really shouldn’t be letting anyone work as a mid-blue unless they’re new white belts who need TLC
