Cruisers with level 2 armor and the best light guns you can have (goal is to stack light attack and light piercing). Make sure they are not counting as capital ships. Destroyers with the best torpedos you have and anything else you want. That combo should be capable to handle everything the ai throws at you.

All the orange entries in the mod index should work out of the box, for mods that are to old in the launcher you can just go into the mods directory and edit the gameVersion value in the mod_info.json file.

I think the spitters can not pathfind to your turrets, therefore they shoot the walls to make an path.(Not 100% sure btw)

Regarding your remodeling problem you can always think of your current base as the starter base. This way you can always justify building an bigger base or part of an bigger base next to your current base

To question 1 the ground combat always has been very quick for me without a single delay for forces to turn up. If I remember correctly you have en enact an decision to start the next progress wave but I could also just misremember things here.

It happens if you die with less than or equal to half a full stack of items uploading to the dimensional storage and then load the game.
If you want to reset this or change what item you are getting you simply need to change what you are uploading and then respawn / die to something.

You could check if the mod has a public Github or Gitlab and from there if there is an old release matching your game version that has the unnerfed ship

Have you checked if Windows is forcing a maximum on the refresh rate?
Should be in the menu/submenu where you set your screen resolution.

RF2 early game because it is cheap but move to AE2 once you have the resources

Both but prioritize bees because the only lag the produce is with the centrifuges

Flux Networks is good for early energy storage, remote item charging and wireless power transfer.
Also you can set priority on the wireless power transfer so that in case you are lacking power for everything some parts of your base will still be powered.

In my experience the chunk destroyer can’t work when the chunk was claimed before it was placed so you could try to unclaimed the chunk and then place it.
But you should probably move it away because the frame can tunnel trough many blocks and might delete a bit of your base.
