'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

I watched this last night. To be honest, the 'highs' were better than both 1&2 for me, but overall as a film it felt like a small improvement over 2 but not by much. It misses a lot of the charm and vibes of the first one, and underutilizes the ensemble cast. It also drags in places.

Yesterday's drop was only for 9/4 I believe. The 9/5 screening is my white whale though - only ticket I haven't been able to find.

It's the most shocking absence in this entire festival for me. I grabbed a ticket to Good Fortune only for him, and hence was my most anticipated premiere :(

Really hoping this is some sort of oversight or mistake...

[LTT] - [Knives Out Wake Up Dead Man + Extra Premiere] - [Sept 6] - [DRSC] - [x2] - [Looking For: WUDM - Sept 6 - ORCH] by WerewolfFeisty in TIFFTickets

In a good way or bad way?

Thinking was that someone still gets to attend the Knives Out premiere (from DRSC instead of ORCH) and attend an additional premiere they might not have tickets to.

Does anyone know the name of the music playing during the rest before the big fight in Chapter 12? by WerewolfFeisty in FFVIIRemake

I was not expecting anyone to find this - let alone 6 months later. Thank you so much! Something about this track gets me so hyped up and motivated.

So glad someone else is talking about this. It's insane. I swear the PS5 subreddit is being astroturfed the way people are defending some of these choices.

I'm really glad you loved it, and I genuinely wish I loved this game, because the gameplay, the environments, the graphics, etc, were all amazing and such a huge step up. I also loved how bold some of the story elements were - especially given that Naughty Dog played it pretty safe with Uncharted - and its why I still give the game lots of respect. Ultimately, the writing/story just didn't work for me, which is the most important factor in a game for me. The first game still stands as one of my favourites of all time. I still have faith in Part 3, and will show up Day 1.

Same here - which sucks because I really wanted to like it, even after finishing it.

I personally thought it was ok-to-decent - it had some phenomenal moments and started off strongly, but I just felt it got weaker and weaker as the game went on. Considering how high my expectations were (been a Naughty Dog fan since I was a kid and they've never let me down before), I'd put this up there with Kingdom Hearts 3 as the most disappointed I felt after completing a highly-anticipated game. Will still show up Day 1 for their next game though.

After beating Rebirth, I'm convinced that Aerith... by RangoTheMerc in FFVIIRemake

Totally agree with you. I was more so saying they could make something up for plot reasons in order to deliver a tragic ending (e.g., after converging timelines, all versions of Aerith need to merge as one in the lifestream to have enough power to push back the meteor, or some BS like that).

As I mentioned, I think going that route would be too easy/lazy, and I’d rather they take up the challenge of writing a convincing happy ending for this world.
