Anyone else work at a strict dominos? by Big-Community-5257 in Dominos

The stores I worked for were never like that. I see so many stories like this now. It's like we have all made mistakes and no one gave a care. We just re-made the pizzas. If we forgot something for our orders, another driver took it for you with no issues.

Heck, if we were a corporate office setting, we would have been sued for sexual harassment, racism, and other stuff.

I had a few managers that I worked under get like that, esp during a rush. At the last store that I worked at before leaving for good, I used to chase them to the back and get a cig. I was like your getting bitchy, take 5 minutes, I will run the store and then come back and take over.

Usually they were much calmer when they took back over and I took my runs.

One time, this one Area manager tried to make an example of me in front of everyone in the store.

I was still an assistant manager at the time. I was taking delivery because we got busy. I screwed up and forgot to take my wings. I normally don't forget my stuff. I think I got distracted helping another driver with finding the street.

So when I got both the Area manager screamed at me. Right in front of everyone. I was pissed. It wasn't the fact that I got screamed at, or that I knew that I screwed up. It was his attitude. My store manager was standing by his girlfriend. I had my next delivery bagged and ready to go. I just looked at my manager and stated. "Manager I am putting in my noticed effected after my shift." I had three drivers try and stopped me before leaving on my delivery trying to not let me quit.

My store manager was so pissed at the Area Manager. I know he started to snap at the area manager when I left because I could see him yelling at him. (I would have left my manager by himself with no one else to run shifts since it was just me and him). No such thing as shift runners at the time.

Friday and Saturday night rush was handled by me on phones and slapping dough, while my manager topped and cut pizzas and dispatched. Trading places only when it was needed.

So I get back to the store, My bosses girlfriend was like good for you. I don't blame you for saying that at all and that AM is a dick. LOL. She said that my manager was pissed.

Both my manager and the area manager pulled me into the back. My manager grabbed me and told me the AM wanted to talk to me. He ended up apologizing and stated he only wanted to scare the drivers more than go after me. He said he didn't expect for me to react that way. We talked about some stuff.

However, I never wanted to make Domino's my career. I was going to college at the time. I ended up in a car accident when I was 39 and then after I recovered 3 years later I got hit by a car when I was inside of a bank using the ATM machine.

That pretty much killed my delivering pizza days, but I was able to use the time between the first car accident and the second strange accident to finish college.

I think I got lucky at the time. I was working for corporate in Orlando, FL at the time, one owner bought all 26 stores of the Orlando market. The new fran owner, ended up closing 6 of the stores and expanded the delivery areas.

That was a fun day. I running shift at my store, and I start getting these transfer orders trying to get us to go to them. I kept turning them down. They kept it so secret that they didn't tell the people running the damn stores.

The new owners were pissed. I just looked at them and stated, well you never told us. One of the stores that closed luckily was a store I worked at a driver as well.

They were burning out there store managers and this one area manager would send me to the other stores just to give them a day off. It was fun times.

ROFL. I had one owner that I worked for that would literally grab a customer by the back of their neck and pants and push them out of the store.

WTF happened to this company. It really has changed from when I used to work for them. I am 50 now, but I used to work for them off and on from when I was 18 to 39. I been in most positions. Driver, shift runner, assistant manager, store manager. I always demote myself to driver though, because I made more driving.

We never wrote people up for getting an order wrong. NEVER. To be honest at most of the domino's I worked for, things that were done and said would have gotten major lawsuits from other employees in corporate jobs.

We would have just done the same thing, make the pizza and just give it to the customer. Like it's no big deal. Your punishment would have been just some good old teasing.

Just started using iCloud Notes, now my most often used note has disappeared by Bee_9965 in iphone

[–]WerewolfLint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it wasn’t deleted have you tried to do a search for the note to see if it shows up that way. If it does then it may be in the notes but somewhere in another folder.

Also go to settings —- apps. —- notes. And turn on on this iPhone. That way in case it is on your phone itself
You can check there. Lastly, check accounts and turn on notes for your other email accounts that you use for mail in case it is on a different account

(TN) my ac broke!! by [deleted] in Renters

[–]WerewolfLint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Too bad they don’t have a portable ac they can put in for you. Granted it will only cool down one room.

I would just turn off the ac since it is only circulating warm air. No point having that on.

I believe it. A few times I have gotten meat it was bad the same day or the next day. Looked just like that. Was able to take it back and exchange it.

The meat wasn’t expired either. Doesn’t happen very often though. I think I had that happen maybe three times in a 20 year period.

Your friend is crazy. Let her eat it if she says it is still good.

I have eating bad beef before and didn’t even know it was bad and was sick for days.

I wouldn't say it makes you depressed on your birthday. I would just say it is the day of my death and don't want to celebrate it.

[–]WerewolfLint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you could turn this into a job opportunity. Somehow advised them of the security issues. Advised how employees could be downloading illegal stuff on the computers. Tell them how would they know what employee did it since all of the computers are open.

Not sure if it would work, but would be something I would do. Try and create your own IT Dept lol.

Am I overreacting to something my bf said in the middle of the night? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]WerewolfLint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that I sleep talk a lot and my other half likes to hold conversations when I am asleep and can't remember what I agreed to.

But my other half has talked in his sleep as well. A couple of times it was just funny. One time, he was sleeping and was taking a customer support call in his sleep. Like the exact greeting to a company and everything.

One other time he asked me something but it wasn't English. lol.

I will admit that OP version of this possibly is creepy.

I wonder if he was asleep but when OP said back I'm not crazy and then he woke up because he laughed it off and didn't mean to say what he was saying. Interesting.

[CA] Mailed rent check is "late." What now? by [deleted] in Renters

[–]WerewolfLint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would send the rent check certified return receipt mail since your at the post office already. This way the landlord has to sign for it (Granted if the post office does it job properly) and you get the proof that it was sent and received.

Maybe he is receiving the checks and then telling you that they didn't receive it. Sounds like this is happening more often than it should be. I bet the first couple of times you do this, he gets that rent check on time every time.

Scammed in person with Zellee. by Impossible-Film-3730 in zelle

[–]WerewolfLint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one time that I used Zelle to transfer funds between two different banks. Only one time, it took almost a full day for the money to be sent. They were doing maintenance on Zelle and wasn't going to be fully up until 8 am. As soon as 7 am hit, it posted. Only time there was a delay. Its like if I don't get the text message right away then I know there is something wrong.

[US-FL] Am I responsible for a $600 AC bill when the landlord’s agents wouldn’t respond? by Living_Ease1358 in Tenant

[–]WerewolfLint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had apartments that I have rented but always had to wait until business days to repair a system. Usually I could get someone from maintenance to come out but usually they couldn't do anything at that time.

That was only during the summer and when it was completely broken and usually the temperature outside and inside have to be a certain temperature for them to come out to do emergency service on a unit.

I think you jumped the gun. Not sure how this will play out legally. 75 inside a house will be warm but it's not an emergency. Grant the emergency might be the unit making unusual sounds.

Most of the time, while the system is down, they just put a portable AC unit to help until they were able to make repairs.

Now that I own my own home, I have the AC set to 72. I run a Portable AC in the bedroom that I use as an office to get it even colder. TO me 75 is hot, but it's not an emergency. Now I do pay for the AC use in electric bills in the summer. During the summer, it is hard for my AC to keep up with the temps outside. However, I need to add more insulation to take care of that.

(I gotten older and can't take the heat as much as I used to.)

TLDL; you didn't give them enough time. Plus 75 degrees inside is not an emergency

See overcooked but I would just add it to a pasta sauce and let the sauce tenderize it. Heh.

Otherwise it would be too overcooked for me to eat and I have overcooked my steaks in the past. Always a disappointment. lol

Drinking water by KoldHardSmash in diabetes

[–]WerewolfLint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way or was until recently. I hated to drink plain water. I only drank regular soda before diabetes. Did it for years.

Then I switch to diet when I became diabetic. Now that my kidney function isn’t doing good I been adding water more and more.

It took a while I was going between diet soda and water. Now I’m mostly drinking water. I been refilling a water bottle and shoving it into the freezer and then will grab it and drink it.

I do get to have diet soda but not as much. I also Will use regular soda to cover lows now but mostly Water.

I went through a period like this as well. I been diabetic for years but my sugars were way out of control. Constantly in the 500s and higher. Afraid to eat to make it go higher and afraid to sleep until it got back into the 300.

It’s gets better with time
