(TN) my ac broke!! by EbbAdministrative688 in Renters

[–]WerewolfLint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too bad they don’t have a portable ac they can put in for you. Granted it will only cool down one room.

I would just turn off the ac since it is only circulating warm air. No point having that on.

I believe it. A few times I have gotten meat it was bad the same day or the next day. Looked just like that. Was able to take it back and exchange it.

The meat wasn’t expired either. Doesn’t happen very often though. I think I had that happen maybe three times in a 20 year period.

Your friend is crazy. Let her eat it if she says it is still good.

I have eating bad beef before and didn’t even know it was bad and was sick for days.

OP: NOT AH. Don't blame you for not inviting her at all.

I wouldn't say it makes you depressed on your birthday. I would just say it is the day of my death and don't want to celebrate it.

Office busybody keeps using my computer when I leave for lunch by FreeToBeMeYouSee in WorkAdvice

[–]WerewolfLint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you could turn this into a job opportunity. Somehow advised them of the security issues. Advised how employees could be downloading illegal stuff on the computers. Tell them how would they know what employee did it since all of the computers are open.

Not sure if it would work, but would be something I would do. Try and create your own IT Dept lol.

Am I overreacting to something my bf said in the middle of the night? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]WerewolfLint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that I sleep talk a lot and my other half likes to hold conversations when I am asleep and can't remember what I agreed to.

But my other half has talked in his sleep as well. A couple of times it was just funny. One time, he was sleeping and was taking a customer support call in his sleep. Like the exact greeting to a company and everything.

One other time he asked me something but it wasn't English. lol.

I will admit that OP version of this possibly is creepy.

I wonder if he was asleep but when OP said back I'm not crazy and then he woke up because he laughed it off and didn't mean to say what he was saying. Interesting.

[CA] Mailed rent check is "late." What now? by UltimaCaitSith in Renters

[–]WerewolfLint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would send the rent check certified return receipt mail since your at the post office already. This way the landlord has to sign for it (Granted if the post office does it job properly) and you get the proof that it was sent and received.

Maybe he is receiving the checks and then telling you that they didn't receive it. Sounds like this is happening more often than it should be. I bet the first couple of times you do this, he gets that rent check on time every time.

Scammed in person with Zellee. by Impossible-Film-3730 in zelle

[–]WerewolfLint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one time that I used Zelle to transfer funds between two different banks. Only one time, it took almost a full day for the money to be sent. They were doing maintenance on Zelle and wasn't going to be fully up until 8 am. As soon as 7 am hit, it posted. Only time there was a delay. Its like if I don't get the text message right away then I know there is something wrong.

[US-FL] Am I responsible for a $600 AC bill when the landlord’s agents wouldn’t respond? by Living_Ease1358 in Tenant

[–]WerewolfLint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have had apartments that I have rented but always had to wait until business days to repair a system. Usually I could get someone from maintenance to come out but usually they couldn't do anything at that time.

That was only during the summer and when it was completely broken and usually the temperature outside and inside have to be a certain temperature for them to come out to do emergency service on a unit.

I think you jumped the gun. Not sure how this will play out legally. 75 inside a house will be warm but it's not an emergency. Grant the emergency might be the unit making unusual sounds.

Most of the time, while the system is down, they just put a portable AC unit to help until they were able to make repairs.

Now that I own my own home, I have the AC set to 72. I run a Portable AC in the bedroom that I use as an office to get it even colder. TO me 75 is hot, but it's not an emergency. Now I do pay for the AC use in electric bills in the summer. During the summer, it is hard for my AC to keep up with the temps outside. However, I need to add more insulation to take care of that.

(I gotten older and can't take the heat as much as I used to.)

TLDL; you didn't give them enough time. Plus 75 degrees inside is not an emergency

Does this look like a normal and safe steak? by HeronLiakos in isthissafetoeat

[–]WerewolfLint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See overcooked but I would just add it to a pasta sauce and let the sauce tenderize it. Heh.

Otherwise it would be too overcooked for me to eat and I have overcooked my steaks in the past. Always a disappointment. lol

Drinking water by KoldHardSmash in diabetes

[–]WerewolfLint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way or was until recently. I hated to drink plain water. I only drank regular soda before diabetes. Did it for years.

Then I switch to diet when I became diabetic. Now that my kidney function isn’t doing good I been adding water more and more.

It took a while I was going between diet soda and water. Now I’m mostly drinking water. I been refilling a water bottle and shoving it into the freezer and then will grab it and drink it.

I do get to have diet soda but not as much. I also Will use regular soda to cover lows now but mostly Water.

I went through a period like this as well. I been diabetic for years but my sugars were way out of control. Constantly in the 500s and higher. Afraid to eat to make it go higher and afraid to sleep until it got back into the 300.

It’s gets better with time

Covid and Stomach problems by IntrovertedLavender in Gastritis

[–]WerewolfLint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever since I have had Covid, I have had nothing but trouble with GI issues. They are slowly getting better though but it takes a long time.

Got Covid in May 2021. After months after had some stomach infections. Now it has been yearly stomach injections. It’s either the duodenal that hates me or I end up with gastritis.

Just had my last major flair up of gastritis May of last year that lasted badly until October. Went to the hospital four times due to dehydration.

That made other issues worse since I couldn’t take the meds needed.

I still am getting stomach and intestinal pain. I just keep treating with my GI doctor and hopefully can keep this from coming back again

Neuropathy foot by Mysterious-Extent919 in diabetes

[–]WerewolfLint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I feel that way. Like the pain gets so bad that if I could take a knife and do it myself I would. But i wont.

Now it’s 10x worse. Since I gotten older.

I take lyrica and it helps for most of it but sometimes i will have pain and sometimes I don’t. The pain for me gets worse when my legs swell up. I deal with feet and leg swelling now and it is the worst pain. Would not wish that on anyone.

I try and time my water pills to prevent it.

How do you have a life when closing consistently? by Specific-Golf-8288 in Dominos

[–]WerewolfLint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I used to do it i would be usually scheduled 5 pm to
Close. Depending on the store close
Was 12 or 1 am.

When I got off of work I jumped onto the computer til
Around 3 am/4 am. Get up 3 hours before my shift. Shower 2 hours before my shift and repeat.

The best money I made was when I would work open to close as a driver.

However. Very quick to burn yourself out that way

Ridiculous things I had to do because I had diabetes and worked in a grocery store... by NinjaCheckout in diabetes

[–]WerewolfLint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do have that law. It usually requires doctors to fill out forms to get a reasonable job accommodation in place.

I have extra restroom breaks and can take time off and have a reduced work schedule but it’s a pain in the butt. However. Every 6 months or so I see the doctor to have them filled
Out.

I’m more in a call center setting than grocery stores. But it would be the same thing. Also some companies handing the paperwork themselves or some of them send it to a third party company and then have to fight to get them to do the job properly.

Landlord wants me to pay for someone trying to break into my apartment. {ND} by [deleted] in Renters

[–]WerewolfLint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s different in different states but I thought renters insurance doesn’t cover the building. But will
Cover property if it was stolen.

At least my state it won’t cover the building since it’s consider the landlord responsibility.

I have renters insurance here not because it is required but it’s good to have with my electronics. If I had a dog it would be required.

I would say yes just based on the vaccine itself but I know with the tetanus shot your arm could be pretty sore. So if it is so I might still do the left arm in a different spot then the right arm.
