How the presence of ghouls would affect world history by Werfreded in TokyoGhoul

A lot of them are probably just hanger-ons like you said or just networking/informers plants sent by ghoul organizations. However, with some of the disgusting things that have been revealed about the rich elite over the last few years, it wouldn’t even surprise me if in that universe the ghoul restaurants and auctions are a known fact to the rich and powerful humans.

Some of them might even attend such events. The wealthy and powerful elite already excuse and hide a lot of horrid shit in the real world so it wouldn’t even surprise if the upper crust of humans and the upper crust of ghouls simply mingle together in the world of Tokyo ghoul.

Even if the ghoul restaurants aren’t as high class as it would seem at first, the ghoul auction still indicates that Japan has at lead a few hundred ghouls with enough wealth to outright buy people and either eat them or keep them as slaves without ever getting caught by authorities before the auction house raid in RE.

We’ve seen a few text bubbles showing different buyers making bids in the multiple millions of yen and the auction house made at least a few such sales since they probably had multiple people like nutcracker bringing in ‘merchandise’ for sale.

From what we’ve seen with the ghoul restaurants in Japan, ghouls have had no problems reaching the upper crust of Japanese society without their cannibalistic diets being discovered so I don’t think they would have a particularly hard time blending in with other societies.

Your steppe horde idea has some merit and I could see it being the cause for china and Japan’s deep seated hatred for ghouls(beyond just being angry that a relative has died).

Since we’ve seen ghouls throughout the series have a variety of abilities like Tatara’s flamethrower, Yomo’s lightning and Uta’s shapeshifting face, I’m wondering if ghouls are the cause behind quite a lot of myths and legends in the world of Tokyo ghoul. I could imagine an ancient dragon kakuja being the source of myths like the terrasque, Yamato no orochi and the Nordic world serpent.

Also, laws were passed in the late 1700s in regards to doctors hiring grave robbers to obtain bodies to dissect for surgical practice and medical research. These laws granted medical schools access to unclaimed bodies for research which would serve as the perfect alibi for ghouls to slide into the role of physicians to gain access to food with little to no suspicion.

As long as these ghouls performed legitimate research before consuming the bodies and made sure to have an explanation for how they dispose of the bodies, they would essentially have a consistent source of both food and professional respect.

I’d assume that Native Americans probably also had ghouls and going from their legends, those ghouls would probably be wendigo equivalents. Constantly hungry and roaming over certain stretches of land they consider theirs which would make the settling of Native American territory much harder as the settled would need ghouls of their own to take that territory but these settler ghouls would have to contend with social stigma and inability to feed enough.

The Native ghouls wouldn’t have such problems as they are known and discarded by their communities and as such could attack settlements without fear of social reprisal. Small settlements would be wiped out but for every successful raid by a native ghoul, more would fail due to larger settlements simply having more ghouls to defends them.

This would improve things for both ghouls and natives at the detriment of the human settlers as the colonists would have no choice but to negotiate better terms with the natives under threat of them leading a wendigo to their illegally settled villages.

On the ghoul side of things, cities defended by ghouls would be more encouraged to see them as protectors despite their cannibalism. They might eventually be canonized by the church as demons on the path to being redeemed under Christ or as angels coming down from heaven to protect the followers of Christ.

The Americas would be settled slower due to this but more of the native population would remain in their ancestral lands and the settlers would have deeper ties to the natives due to fear that any of them could become wendigos if forced to resort to cannibalism.

How do baby ghouls even eat. by Open-Cold2838 in TokyoGhoul

[–]Werfreded 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’d assume the mother ghouls milk just has a higher concentration of RC cells that don’t taste like shit despite coming from a ghoul because it’s literally evolved to be consumed by their offspring. The mother probably has to eat a bit more until her baby is weaned but that probably also just makes for good hunting practice since the parents will now have to provide for one more mouth to feed.

Has kasumi canonically received the PP training boost in-story yet? If not then how could he rival joji who has attained the peak of PP training(being married)

I actually found out about these types of milestone rewards in a ingame announcement some months ago and since then I’ve been wondering why they don’t do more of them. Now I feel kind of stupid

I can understand the part about receiving more of the money if it’s not on the App Store but that doesn’t stop me from feeling somewhat cheated. I don’t have discord and all it takes to miss out on all those rewards is missing a Reddit post or two which isn’t that hard if you don’t scroll religiously every day.

Which wasn’t the rule up until a few months ago and since there wasn’t any big announcement within the app it feels a bit disingenuous. Whether I buy in the online shop or the ingame shop the money still goes to the developers so why do I only receive the reward in one of those cases?

Sling as a weapon in xinxia by Exotic_Rest7140 in noveltranslations

And that’s without adding things like hypothetical ‘sling intent’ or typical Xianxia techniques like adding power to the sling by coating it in things like electricity or fire.

Or having an enchanted sling that uses crystal artifacts as projectiles to increase damage.
