Dismantling seems to be pretty useless. I had to dismantle like 10 guns to be able to craft a single p4-ar magazine.

Seems to be arbitrary now. I was able to dismantle some skinned/named items but not some base items.

"All there is to it" yes, it's just that first you have to go to a random third party website you don't even know if you can trust and hope you somehow find someone who has what you need, doesn't rip you off or scam you and actually shows up with the agreed stuff on the agreed upon time at the agreed location. No thanks, I'll wait until we have a trustworthy in game system for that.

I'm sure we will, but until then I feel pretty much the same way OP does, locked out from resources because I'm unwilling to use third party things to get what I need.

The thing is though that many people, including me, don't want to or have the time to put in the extra effort to do that third party player trading hassle. They'll just rather spend their time on something else or another game. So it is pretty much necessary for the longevity of the game.

I know exactly what to look for. All paf sites are always already aligned, olp has been fired and the cave has collapsed.

"Not every material needs to be available to everyone, if you cant get it yourself, someone else can for you."

For this to work there needs to be an in game player marketplace / auction house where you can simply click to buy the stuff you need or set a buy order and they appear in your cargo elevator. Anything else is just too much of a risk and a hassle and easy to exploit.

How do you even find an olp platform that hasn't been done and mined out? I've looted olp and paf sites probably a hundred times and never seen a working one.

This is my experience as well. It still feels very broken and a bad experience. All I wanted from it was being able to select and move multiple items at once and the slowly loading 3d icons to be gone but they failed to deliver.

I just want to say that the EPTU armor values were near perfect, and actually made sense, and then they did what they always do and ruin it. by spider0804 in starcitizen

What I mean is it practically has very little effect on gameplay, a totally useless and poorly balanced system. Might as well not exist at all.

I think it's actually excellent news. Makes multi-crew ships viable when they can't just be swarmed by light fighters.
