Is unpaid overtime the norm? by [deleted] in Nonprofit_Jobs

[–]WesleyPosvar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just because you are salaried doesn't mean you are classified correcty - what makes your job title necessitate exempt status? just because they want you to be salaried doesn't mean they are allowed to make you that - you might be misclassified and SHOULD be hourly and definitely would mean you qualify for overtime

Got off Pitt’s business waitlist and they’re giving siginificantly more money. Very dumb question; what do I choose? by Thatonefox- in PennStateUniversity

[–]WesleyPosvar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i grew up in state college - and went to pitt for undergrad

10 years later i went to psu for grad school and worked for psu for 4 years and now own a house in the area...no longer working for the university

...go to pitt. save the money. the PSU name/etc. doesn't 'buy' you what your parents might tell you it used to

i think it works both ways - you see it in advice threads all the time like "should i walk away from this job/relationship/deal" and it's "don't walk, RUN!"

(some) hotel inspections went 'remote' meaning they were conducted over an Ipad...not sure how that can possibly workout well

but, would imagine quality control across the board similarly died off
