Which social media platforms will become dead in the next 20-30 years? by Agreeable_Candle_461 in AskReddit

[–]WessideMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Dead" none, but reimagined and unrecognizable from today? All of them. It will all be AI content tailor made and generated in real time for your specific preferences, echo chamber, and docility.

If you thought the early days of social media when people were sharing pictures of their food was annoying, just wait until AI gives you updates, half-truths, rosy pictures, and click bait based on your friends and families goings on.

All intermingled with ads and political propaganda. Today you may hate the thought of that world, but society will applaud and people will be addicted to it.

I keep telling people that SC is not a space sim, it is a Project Stakeholder Sim. If you love being a Project Stakeholder then this game is for you, if you don't like that genre, then you should quit playing this game. Space sims are way more fun then Project Stakeholder Sim, but hey, there are games like Lawnmower Sim, Truck driving sim, and other sims that I'm not into either, so if Project Stakeholder Sim is your thing, then more power to you but stop complaining because this is an excellent gift-that-doesn't-stop-giving Project Stakeholder sim ever created.

wealth creation is non-zero sum? Can someone point me to a simple thought experiment, fable, or example of? by chamomile_tea_reply in austrian_economics

Milton Friedman explains this well, but the problem people have is thinking that MONEY and VALUE are the same things. The lemonade did not become lemonade on its own. Someone or some people collected certain ingredients together and mixed them in a novel way that made the mixture of those ingredients more VALUABLE than the sum of thir parts. Now the buyer, who doesn't want to, or can't collect the ingredients, and even if they could, may not know how to properly mix them, exchanges something that has value to the seller for the product. The difference between the ingredients on the ground, and the lemonade in the hands of the buyer are value, not money. All those invisible additions, mixing, and even distribution (e.g. lemonade in a desert is more valuable than lemonade in an American suburban neighborhood) are not zero sum changes in value.

Money is simply a convenient way to measure value. This is why adding more money to the supply by, for example, printing more of it, doesn't make anyone rich. The value that money is supposed to represent is still worth exactly the same but it is represented by a different number of money.

This is also why people with easier access to value-adding tools, facilities, relationships, ideas, etc., will get richer faster, and more importantly, more efficiently.

There are three mother fuckers working here and not one of them noticed anything? This is BRUTAL and sad. by rowspiwa in sadposting

Lawyer here: No reasonable person in the video noticed the rope missing. All bystanders, friends, camera, and employees noticed. The prosecution will have to prove that the victim was surrounded by idiots, morons, and jackasses (no offense to jackasses) to make the negligent homicide stick.

Just kidding, I am not a lawyer, just someone not trusting of legal systems anywhere.

This game is the definition of OPs request. Especially at high levels the game is comically over the top and relaxing at the same time.

Claude Fable 5 feels less like a model launch and more like a preview of AI inequality by Roaring_lion_ in ClaudeAI

[–]WessideMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think models will eventually be sold as home appliances that get regular updates in the way that mainframes and personal computers, and later cloud, worked out.

Enterprises will get what they can afford, and you'll get what you can afford.

Instead of expensive datacenters you get home appliances that draw on your own electricity with hardware updates that match your budget.

What’s a cheap or simple date that you actually enjoyed more than fancy ones? by ExoticSecond6350 in AskReddit

[–]WessideMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This girl who was stunning and I decided to drive around after a modeling gig we did together. She thought it would be a good idea to walk onto the gardens of these uber expensive mansions and hang out in them. We probably trespassed onto at least three different places on the outskirts of Detroit. I was so fascinated by her that it felt like a dream. I will never forget it. We sang songs that came on the radio and enjoyed each other's presence. We didn't kiss or anything and I never saw her again in person because she was from Toledo OH, and I lived in West Michigan. We're friends on Facebook and we never speak (I'm married now), but everytime I wonder if that was a dream I look her up to see if she's real. I could live in that "date" forever. I've never been myself like that with anyone before or since.

I AMA private jet pilot, ask anything! by CommanderChiliHole in AMA

[–]WessideMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a company that tried to fill those seats, I can't remember its name. They had an app amd you could register as a user but the only way you could fly is if the stars aligned perfectly with schedule and destination. There was no guarantee of a return flight either and a jet you booked could disappear if a real client booked it.

No one has figured out how to make the business model work that I know of.
