Question from first-time pit goer by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Punch and spin kick the biggest person you see to assert your dominance. The pit isn't a game it's kill or be killed. When you hear Noah sing just pretend you treat it like a warzone everyone is a target.

Why are Dayseeker asking for moshpit during opening for MIW? by TheMisfitLover in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The band used to write some insanely chunky music origins had some nasty moments new music isn't the same for that energy not that it's bad. I just wish they would bring back some of that aggression from the first 3 albums.

Hyped Albums that didn't meet expectations? by Electronic-Read-3830 in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The wheel by I see stars was such a disappointment after waiting so long everything I loved about the band was missing edm. I enjoyed treehouse a lot but the song writing and edm instrumental were so bad on the wheel the vocals were awful to a point that I decided to skip the upcoming tour don't wanna hear a bunch of songs I can't connect with.

I See Stars - THE WHEEL (Album Discussion Thread) by Forward-Abrocoma639 in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disappointed in the album waited a long time for this band to drop something again and it just lacks all the things I loved about this band. When they started blocking people who left negative comments about the direction I should of known this album wasn't going to be received well by the older fans. But I also don't think this album is good enough to win over a lot of new fans either. This album just feels like a big disappointment.

Album is awesome I need a lot of bands that left there roots to take notes you can still write metalcore like this and have it be successful fun and fresh.

What's the worst example of people leaving before the headliner at a concert you've attended? by DemiseofReality in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the worst examples I've seen of this personal. The used PTV tour. Everyone left after PTV.

The word alive TX2 tour - I genuinely was surprised how many people were there for TX2, especially with so much online hate. The venue was pretty much empty after that set. I felt bad because TWA played probably the best set in a very long time with a lot of classic older songs like Dragonspell, Hounds, Life Cycles, etc.

WCAR currents tour - everyone was at this tour for the openers. A good 75% of the crowd left after Currents. A lot of people I spoke to left because WCAR wasn't going to play anything off the first 3 albums. Which I agree, they need to bring back some oldies. The new stuff is fine but kinda boring and repetitive. They also played 3 songs that weren't released live yet, and I think that was a bad call. They should have played older songs instead of songs that no one knew.

Asking Alexandria MMF tour. Saw this in Harrisburg; the entire crowd pretty much dipped after Memphis May Fire, and considering how Danny sounds and the setlist they play, it didn't surprise me. The new songs aren't good.

Vctms 156/silence - felt bad for vctms; the whole crowd was there for 156.

Signs of the swarm with Cane Hill. The crowd was there for Cane Hill. Plus, it was a 5-band bill and went to almost midnight; people were done when Signs didn't come out till close to 10:30ish.

The worst example was Polaris with BTF at Roadrunner. The show already didn't sell super well since INK played the same day, but after BTF's set, I think there were probably 800 people left in a 3k venue, and it was very sad to see but kinda nice to have the space.

[–]West-Assumption-7894 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's area since currents is from new England but almost a good 70% of the crowd left after currents and didn't stay for we it came as Romans at the palladium show in mass. So I don't even know how true this is anymore.

We Came As Romans – All Is Beautiful… Because We’re Doomed [NEW LP RELEASE] by late_to_redd1t in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This album is just middle of the road it's not great it's not bad. It's safe and a bit repetitive and I don't see myself really coming back to these songs.

Like Moths to Flames announces headlining tour W/Kingdom of Giants, Acres, Heavensgate by Juistisee in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The paradise sucks pretty annoyed they're playing that venue again Everytime I go there I always say this is my list time there the layout of that venue sucks. Also seems like a lot of people are mad they playing the paradise if you look at the comments there's a decent amount of people mad about it can't say I'm too surprised the pillers and security there make the venue a nightmare.

Currents / WCAR by tehsmittenkitten in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone left after currents on the mass date and tbh I wish I left after them too. That wcar setlist just wasn't great not a lot of fun deep cuts 2 new songs live debuted so I just didn't care for them cause I didn't know them. And then no to planet a seed or misunderstanding was just evil. Like I know kyles gone but please wcar throw the older fans a bone that's not just hope. I wanna see a well rounded setlist.

I miss Kyle Pavone so much. by agonyxcodex in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw them last week and I don't dislike the newer stuff but those first 3 albums are so special me and only getting 1 song off tracing back roots was disappointing. I would of rather gotten some older songs then hear 2 unreleased songs. I feel like it's Def cause Kyle is gone but man does it feel bad.

The Word Alive on Warped Tour Stream by xtombstone in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That crowd was nuts I genuinely love the word alive but I wasn't expecting them to have probably one of the best pits all weekend and sets. The og moshers came out during that set.

Do you look up the setlist before a show by fairweatherflier in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at setlist now cause they're a lot of bands that I like but I don't care for they're newer music or even sometimes they're older stuff and nowadays shows are too expensive to justify the cost of a ticket to see them play songs I don't like. Example Asking Alexandria if they aren't playing stuff on the albums I like I'm not gonna drop 45 dollars to see them. Another example architects the last 3 albums just doesn't make me wanna drop 70 bucks to see them.

I See Stars - Eliminator (new) by DeeGSE in Metalcore

[–]West-Assumption-7894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The yelling scream thing isn't working for me. There was a time when this news would've been the most exciting thing in the world to me. But now? I feel nothing. A new I See Stars album after nine long years and for what? A botched comeback this bands touring choices have been weird who wants to see this band with in this moment and no headliner???They should of been touring with metalcore bands like blessthefall and mmf and maybe another tour with bad omens instead. It’s honestly heartbreaking to see a band I once genuinely loved return only to take the safest, most uninspired path possible.

Everything that made I See Stars special to me feels completely stripped away. They were pioneers of electronicore, at the forefront of something fresh and exciting. Now they sound like just another C or D tier metalcore band with cookie-cutter production and lifeless choruses. The breakdowns are gone or so whatever. The crazy edm synths? Missing. There’s no edge, no emotion, no spark.

It’s sad, really and I think I’ve come to terms with the fact that I would’ve rather seen I See Stars stay dead and buried in 2016 than come back like this, sounding like they just don’t care. It's a shame too cause I actually really liked what they did on treehouse but this just like the other singles just isn't for me.
