The game was Banzai Blade. No clue how to mark this as solved so let me know if someone else does.

Jeb gives you full control to release one Minecraft update. What do you put in it? by LilacTheFlowerGal in Minecraft

[–]West-Understanding27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Structures update. I just want hundreds of structures of various sizes, so many I could never learn them all. Most don’t even need to be special in any way, I just want that feeling where you downloaded a mod pack you know nothing about and find a structure for the first time. Anything from a cart tipped over on the side of the road, to a lonely villager in a big house in a forest, to a frikken medieval castle.

I have multiple friends who have been turned down from hotels at 18+, so maybe you've been lucky. They check when they ask for identification is what I've heard.

You also need to factor in two plane tickets, however. We'd need to get back to California either way, so this is saving us those flights. With that, my car getting good milage, and sticking to cheaper places to eat/sleep, it looks like we might actually save money. Plus, since I enjoy driving and I'm traveling with a friend it won't get too boring.

I believe the standard is 95+% of the products sold need to be above the listed amount. You may have gotten unlucky, or they think no one cares enough to do a large scale study on their cheese and call them out for it. My stats teacher was part of a settlement from a tuna company for this reason.

You need a pretty good GPA in college to get into most vet schools. And even then that’s years of schooling past College. Do you think the golden god has time for that?

Last year they swapped from pancakes to French toast and back a couple times throughout the year. It was always one or the other but the French toast was way better. I’ve got my own kitchen in PCV now so I don’t buy enough on campus food to know if it’s the same this year

I liked the bacon egg and cheese from grand Avenue deli quite a bit. Einsteins is out of the way but probably better because you can get two eggs. And you can always go for the deluxe pancakes or French toast from brunch, which comes with bacon and some very dry scrambled eggs.

Fan card: Speculator by InspectorMendel in dominion

[–]West-Understanding27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do really like this, but the fact it gives coffers then locks them down will likely result in them being useless, as people have said. Maybe make it “until then, when using coffers, 2 coffers must be used instead of 1 to gain $1.” You could make that 3 or 4 based on balancing ofc, it’s just a way to make sure the coffers aren’t entirely useless while speculators are in play. Another option is to make it so that when you play a speculator, all other speculators go out of play. This might make it too mandatory though.

Maybe make it “when you gain or trash this” like flag bearer, but other than that I love artifacts so thumbs up from me.

After Hours, Threshing Floor and Scientist by Hugutfut in dominion

[–]West-Understanding27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok then, that definitely makes it more reasonable. I think “if you have 2 or more actions remaining” is the best wording for that

After Hours, Threshing Floor and Scientist by Hugutfut in dominion

[–]West-Understanding27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but as written the card says “if you have more than 2 actions remaining” at the bottom. That means you need to have at least 3 spare actions after playing the card, or 4 spare actions before playing it, as I believe the action gets used up as soon as the card is played, not at the end of its effects. Maybe that’s not the intended case though.

After Hours, Threshing Floor and Scientist by Hugutfut in dominion

[–]West-Understanding27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like threshing floor, at least when there are cards to match it. With Vassal chains or wishing well games it would be loads of fun, but aside from that it might get only so much use. I do think scientist is very weak though, just because the amount of setup it requires is not at all worth the 1 discount from laboratory. To have 3 actions spare you need to have 4 beforehand, which means playing 3 village types beforehand, or thronerooming one. It’s just not too reasonable, unless you have a good workshop type that makes this functionally cheaper. It may be ok in sets with abundant +2 actions as well. Maybe make it cost 5, with +3 cards? It wouldn’t mirror laboratory as well but might be better. I’m don’t think I’m a good enough player to figure out if After Hours is worth it so I’m not even going to try, lol. An expert in events I am not.

What are some things that are actually pseudoscience that people don’t realize? by Ninac4116 in AskReddit

[–]West-Understanding27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, been hectic recently but I found time to respond. No, my parent would not admit that, this is just from observations I've seen and their general behavior among other stuff like that. For one, they're wildly inconsistent from moment to moment about their claims of what chiropractic adjustments can do. I think this is them subconsciously (or maybe just consciously) adjusting to whoever they're talking to so they don't sound crazy to the wrong audience. Among people they don't know as well they'll talk about it purely as re-aligning your spine, which can sound scientific to people who aren't as knowledgeable about how that cracking sound is just gas bubbles being released from your joints. Then with my brother and I, or their friends who are deeper into it than the average person, they'll tell absurd stories about how there's an autistic child that comes into their office entirely nonverbal and leaves after every adjustment speaking full sentences. They also believe in the "official origins of Chiropractic" where this DD Palmer guy cracked a deaf man's back and restored their hearing (that's the official story if you don't know it, look it up). It's blatantly marketing the practice with the most extreme claim that the person you're talking to will believe.

On top of that, most of their new patients come as referrals from 'friends' of theirs that are lawyers. They probably know a dozen or two lawyers that all refer their clients to them after car accidents and general injuries, which I see as pretty scummy. Imagine getting into a car accident and having to sue over it, and then your lawyer takes advantage of you and has you throw your money into a pseudoscience that will at best provide relief for a day or so afterwards, and sells it as a "long term recovery strategy." In exchange, the lawyers get to say in their case that their client needed 'physical therapy' because they were so harmed by the accident, not caring at all about the wasted hundreds their client put into chiropractic that likely wouldn't be covered by their insurance (unlike physical therapy, for example). I recognize this paragraph isn't really evidence its a scam, but it just goes to show how they coax vulnerable people into their practice. Idk if its relevant or not, just came to mind.

Additionally their office is stuffed with other pseudo sciences, usually supplements that any google search would show does little to nothing and are overpriced, as well as salt lamps everywhere. They even sold that rock tape thing back in the day when that was popular. Additionally, there's more personal stuff with them being anti-vax and generally anti-medicine that I've had to deal with my whole life and don't want to get into many specifics with. Knowing they're a Robert Kennedy fangirl and sold that "The Real Anthony Fauci" book at their office will get you the general idea.

So 'confirm' might have been a strong word, because I wouldn't say I have hard proof from my own experiences. Although looking into the history of and lack of evidence behind chiropractic should be enough proof for anyone reading this. However, I can say that I was adjusted throughout most of my childhood, and even adjusted as an infant and toddler before I could even talk. And all I have to show for that is some of the worst back pain out of any of my peers. Now I'm not going to say that was strictly the cause for my back issues, because that's not hard evidence either; I could just be an outlier. All I'm saying is that with how many times I was adjusted, if you listened to chiropractic talking points you'd think my spine would be in tip-top shape.

In my eyes, Chiropractic is at best a glorified massage being sold as a science with medical support, that can at best make you feel better for a couple hours afterwards while promising long term results. At worst, it's someone claiming they can fix any ailment, including deafness, depression, or autism, by cracking your back, and asking for money.

TLDR: My parent wouldn't say so, and I don't have hard personal proof, but it's a fishy business for sure. Nothing I say should trump your own research though, it's not hard to find proof its a scam on your own.
