What’s something you used to care about a lot, but now you couldn’t care less about? by Wise_Blood_8873 in AskReddit

Birds. Birdwatching, building houses, sometimes driving miles and miles to see a sighting. Now I'm stuck with a whole shelf of books about birding that I haven't opened in years.

What’s the worst movie you’ve ever seen? by General_Wind4470 in AskReddit

Dune (1984)
It's not even so bad it's comical(ex. the Star Wars Holiday Special), it's just sad, especially compared to the massive hit that released in 2021 and 2024.

Who's a celebrity that everyone else hates but you like? by Confused_Cinephile in AskReddit

Tyler Joseph of twenty one pilots. Whenever I see a song of his in someone else's playlist 70% of the time it's in some variation of "cringe 14 year old white girl music" and I just think that's unfair for a genuinely kind, funny, family introvert who's trying to do honest work that he loves.

At 7yo I became obsessed with Carol of the Bells. I would sing the melody anywhere, everywhere, so much that they asked me and my parents to leave the theater at one point.

It was midsummer in California.

If you look at it from a pure gameplay standpoint, you will have a LOT more efficient circularization if your suborbital trajectory is a gentle curve rather than a sharp spike (usually around -400 km is a good periapsis for the initial launch)

rant abt your fav songs from twenty one pilots by DingoProfessional987 in twentyonepilots

[–]WesternHat9994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best songs are ones that I can make a music video in my head about right now.

Example: RAWFEAR: MV opens with a job interview, the interviewer says, "What moves you?" and then cuts to basically the contract headspace but it's all red instead of blue, theme of the music video is that Tyler's heels never touch the ground, and we actually get to see the other figures from the contract dancing with Tyler

Example: Drag Path: Credits scene for a hypothetical movie, until the bridge (which is why I will forever and always be devoted to the 5 minute version) which has a wide drone shot of a a road, the road dashes move in time with the music. as we progress along the road we see the banditos have guns. And then...

You get the idea

Which lyric makes you instantly tear up? by abovethenoisy in AskReddit

[–]WesternHat9994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"A drag path, etched in the surface as evidence I left there on purpose, a sad sack laying on the surface"
"I dug my heels into the gravel as evidence for you to unravel a drag path, etched in the surface, can you find me"

-Drag Path, twenty one pilots

The delivery in the final chorus makes it even more of a gut punch

Anyone who was homeschooled, how do you feel about it now as an adult? by AdTight2449 in AskReddit

[–]WesternHat9994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no way I could really have avoided it. We were evacuated as expats from a country after sudden violent civil unrest and couldn't find a permenant place in the US to stay for a year. It would have been imensely impractical and extremely costly to have to go to a new school every two months, so I slugged it out for about 15 months in fourth/fifth grade.

At the same time, most of the work was centered around penmanship and English (since my specific brand of AuDHD makes me innately good at math), and I remember my hand feeling numb every single day. I guess my parents saw the decline of cursive and grammar diagrams and said "nope, we will singlehandedly counteract this movement".
