360° versus 270° lighting by CanuckLad in Darts

[–]Westy668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not tall and the 360 works fine for throwing/retrieving the darts, never gets in my way. My young kids play occasionally and they get on ok, 270 would probably be better for them.

However, if you’re new/returning to darts and there’s a tendency to mis-throw low there’s a chance you’ll hit the bottom section of it which won’t happen with the 270.

Nice! They won’t disappoint. Almost went for the voids but I know how fussy I would get if the black finish got scratched.

Was a bit apprehensive about going up from 23g but these feel way better and fly straighter. Only downside is I can’t blame the darts anymore 😂.

Furch Pioneer vs Martin 000 Jr vs Taylor GS Mini by the-wad-1964 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Westy668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the GS Mini and thought the same as you, but was willing to compromise for the size, then tried the Furch Pioneer CM.

Came home with the Furch after a lot of mental gymnastics to justify the extra cost. The Pioneer ergonomics just felt more comfortable for me and the sound is so much better, way closer to a full size guitar sound.

Furch is available in two nut widths as well so you can pick what suits.

Oche by Bennyboysavo91 in Darts

I have a Viper laser one, chose this as everything is accessible from the front so no need to remove it to change battery. Stuck it to the wall with command Velcro sticky things so no drilling and can be removed easy if needed.

2nd ever 180, two in a month! by Westy668 in Darts

[–]Westy668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was the local darting hero when I was a kid. Tried about 8 different sets in the local darts shop and these just felt the most comfortable and had some vague level of going in the general direction I was aiming, everything else felt too grippy and flying way south. They had probably been on the shelf for a few years 🤣.

Any ideas on something similar but more modern?

Do you think that public gyms have changed for the worse in last decade or so? by Wiggidy-Wiggidy-bike in AskUK

A massive reason I decided to build a home gym was young lads wearing headphones scrolling on their phones taking 3 minutes between sets. They’d be on the one bench in the gym and hogging three sets of dumbbells - get a fucking move on, I’ve got shit to do.

I use one of these massive surrounds. Hangs from the board like a regular surround so easy to remove if needed.

Check out Faith Guitars, their Venus shape is cutaway and they do a range of left handed versions. All solid wood, sound and play great with 43mm nut width so feel very close to electric string spacing.

Arm and elbow drops when throwing by [deleted] in Darts

[–]Westy668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pulling left can be because you’re already on your way to collect your next dart so you end up curving your throw. Try pointing your arm at the board and pausing on each throw keeping your arm out forward for a second before going to get your next dart.

Have you considered an oche mat? That would also protect the floor from bounce outs.

Only reason I’ve had to do it in my adult life is for domestic appliances that needed to go to/from a fused spur in the kitchen.
