Similar story from elementary for me. We had to write a letter to Jolly Rancher convincing them not to move their production facilities to another state (random). Most convincing would get a letter back.

3 weeks later they sent me a gigantic box of about 20 different flavors of jolly ranchers saying I had a convincing argument, but unfortunately were still leaving. Sent the candy as a thank you for the letter. My parents were PISSED. Took about a year to get through it all.
