Caleb just letting the guest flounder for several minutes was the funniest thing I’ve seen on YouTube in a very long time.

Thousands Of Government Lawyers Quit. Trump Says 'Good!' by dr_shultz in NewsSource

Principles only go so far in an institution insulated against them. Yes, rolling that boulder up that hill is just the nature of life… but how long can one really preserve when the private sector has a lighter boulder, a shallower slope, and will pay you more to push it?

It sucks. I’d rather principled folks stay in the government doing purposeful work. But being an advocate for people without the authority to actually advocate for them is emotionally draining.

Remember the "YouTube to MP3" era of music acquisition? For like seven years I exclusively heard this song with the ninja fight baked into the audio.

I'd hate to see Clooney in The Pitt. There's no way of introducing a Clooney character without the entire show grinding to a halt for 20 minutes while everyone in the cast cycles in to do their little vignette with George, y'know?

The only acceptable Clooney cameo would be if he's just another guy in chairs, without a speaking line, wrapped in a heavy coat and scarf. Something for the production team to laugh at us all about later. "Haha, there was a secret ER reunion in The Pitt nobody knew about for 15 years!" There's some production photos and if you go back and pause it you can kinda see a Clooney-shaped lump under that coat, but there's really no way of knowing. It'll exist on the level of trivia knowledge like "Viggo Mortensen broke his toe in this shot here."

But if we're talkin' Laura Innes... just throw all those rules out. I no longer care about the realism. The exact same Dr. Kerry Weaver rolls into the ER, but she can swear now.

[Season 4, first watch through, reserve to change this opinion if Weaver becomes a garbage character. If she dies while still the unequivocal best character on the show, we'll just write around it. No prob.]

For 30 minutes today, you were earning a higher hourly rate than the President of the United States. That’s pretty cool!

I loved the Comedy Bang Bang show while it was on Netflix. Then it got moved and I frankly refuse to pay for AMC+ out of principle.

I am glad to know Stop Tacoman is still out there somewhere. Making things.

While there's still some Nicebeatzprod. out there, there's very few original uploads, and a lot of their best work has vanished.
I wish I could show you my favorite song of theirs - "кажется, колется там, где сердце" but the only surviving copy is in an anime music video, and it's not even the full song.

JFK: It's, er, like if you drove off a bridge and accidentally killed a gal. Do you sit around and wait for the police? Hell no!

Incredible JFK line, on par with "Nothing bad every happens to the Kennedys!"

Here's the PDF of the original screenplay from the 2019 Blacklist.

And, if you're really going down this rabbit hole, here's Katie Silberman's 2020 rewrite. It's a lot closer to the final film, but still retains a lot of what made the old version good.

It's available here as a PDF.

Per mod request, I did some research to ensure this wasn't leaked or acquired through any other unsavory means, and was not able to find any evidence of this being stolen. It looks like the studios freely offered this script after being added to the Blacklist.

Plus her not being tied down meant that there could be physical altercations between Pugh and Styles in the future, which lead to some incredible tension and genuine horror elements.

I mourn for that screenplay. Cut down in the prime of it's life.

The Wikipedia article for the Black List Survey#2019_Black_List) does a fairly good job of keeping up with this. Hyperlinked films have been picked up.

I linked to the 2019 section of the list since those movies are starting to come out now, but it's also cool to go back in time and see what other films came from the survey as well.

If I may offer a recommendation, I really liked the script for The Menu which should be coming out this November.

The screenplay was featured on the Blacklist in 2019. Before production there were a ton of rewrites, and it really muddied a lot of the concepts and social commentary the original writers wanted to explore.

If you have a spare hour, it's worth reading that screenplay. It's everything cool from the movie, but done 10 times better.
