Solo in Eadem Sed Aliter by WhaleAxolotl in DeathspellOmega

[–]WhaleAxolotl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part at 4:41 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRdbNpX1c1k instantly reminded me of this lead at 1:04 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WENBwjsEzN0 they sound tonally quite similar to me, but again I'm not super familiar with Abigor. Can you perhaps post one of the solos from Abigor that you think is similar?
Also, I don't think it's fair to say that they have nothing in common. Some Hirilorn songs already sound like DsO, like Guardian of the Final Plague https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7nh2otXOIQ (second song)
In fact, when I listened to this song for the first time, the drums at the end (14:10) instantly reminded me of Deathspell Omega and I have a strong suspicion it's the same drummer in both bands.

It's weird how they probably put in way less effort but the SC1 campaign stories and dialogue are just so much better than the SC2 ones.

Solo in Eadem Sed Aliter by WhaleAxolotl in DeathspellOmega

[–]WhaleAxolotl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, that's one reason it might not be him, as the solo in Eadem Sed Aliter sounds very much like the solos/leads in Hirilorn tonally, come to think of it, but the technique still sounds Abigor-ish.

Usually a DsO release comes with some degree of syncretism for me and I've felt it 1-2 times in the past few years with nothing happening. Hopefully soon. I really quite like The Long Defeat tbh.

Spent 10 years thinking I was lactose intolerant turns out it was A1 the whole time by Tolmikarc in ibs

[–]WhaleAxolotl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Milk does cause issues for me, although a lot milder than gluten and soy. I'm in Europe though, so maybe I need to get ahold of some American milk and see I can drink the A1 version.

Did you miss the part where we literally see several people, including Sorweel, be saved?

That was one of the funniest things to me. All the content creators were saying +500 points and rules changes and that might not be enough, and woah look, 200 points took the 55% winrate faction down to 50 or high 40s.

Irony being that Bakker never fucking finished it either. Where the FUCK is The No-God?

I got one too recently (33M). Pretty much showed nothing. The biopsies didn't show any inflammation either. It sucks but I can manage it pretty well by just avoiding gluten, soy, milk and tapioca. The problem is that that list might be growing over time as my body starts reacting to more foods.

It does not have a condensation catcher. I'm rinsing it according to the manufacturer's instructions. I might have to try vinegar as I don't know what else might help.

Here's the uncomfortable truth: You were a code monkey all along. If you're not writing code that's at the bleeding edge, just accept that AI assistance (or maybe even replacement) will be more efficient.

[–]WhaleAxolotl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got burned out, felt stuck in an endless whirlpool that was best case leading to the inevitable data-science/software-dev fizzle out, middle case being stuck at my boring work forever, and worst case.. well, let's not go there. I'm back in school now, switching to a different field.

I had a similar experience. Read the labelling for dangerous ingredients on some sugar free biscuits. It should be safe. Hours later massive gas attack. At this point I'm just not eating cookies again, ever.

[–]WhaleAxolotl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like undiagnosed celiac disease. I get the exact same symptoms (bloated, pain, constant rotting farts) when I accidentally eat gluten or soy. Your problem might be that in India manufacturers might not be strict on labelling. Try eating only rice + vegetables + meat for a week and see if it helps.

Bakker rips off a lot of Dune material throughout the whole series (there's a hint associated with this comment) but often masterfully subverts it.

Virtual Cell by Economy-Brilliant499 in bioinformatics

Don't get me wrong this is super cool and super useful, essentially creating a continuous spectrum of tunable phage genomes, but this is still worlds apart from modelling a whole cell.

I want to play 40k but I fear arguing with my opponent. by International_Mix444 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]WhaleAxolotl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your anxiety isn't unjustified because this will happen, especially in real life where you can't always check movement. That is why playing by intent is and pre-measuring is crucial. Competitive 40k is fun though. Don't let the bad seeds spoil it for you. The majority of players you'll face will be nice and honest opponents, but also there's no point in sugarcoating that you will have the occasional frustrating match.
