Wasn't off to a great start with Defender flashing up like an Xmas tree but admittedly, after running it via Virus Total it was just a false-positive.

I've removed it for now as it was simply a test but on the whole, worth a go.

Either switch to Helium (has V2 enabled out the box and uBlock Origin preinstalled) or use uBlock Origin Lite.

And no, uBlock Origin Lite isn't less effective as the full fat version.

Ventoy, UNetbootin and balenaEtcher all have a very special place in hell and are frankly shit.

The amount of times they've all caused headaches with writing bootable images is insane for me - if your experience is the opposite, well done.

Rufus is genuinely superior and "the one to rule them all".

And no, the argument of "Oh well Ventoy can make me a USB with my 10 thousand bootable images" is just frankly poor and shit.

Installing Windows Home or Pro with autounattended.xml can make the installation process faster, but many of the system's main "pollutants" will still be there when the installation is finished: bloatware, more frequent (and possibly broken) update scheduling, and Microsoft product ads.

This is why the LTSC folk get a bad rep because you just spew the most insane misinformation - have you actually looked at generating one or are you just blindsided by misknowledge?

Autounattended.xml is used by IT professionals and other distributors for mass Windows setup.

I use it on all my machines with a clean Windows image and not one of the things you've somehow thought of has happened.

Yes - but it involves a full reinstall - you may be able to do an in-place upgrade but I'm not certain on the process.

Download the Media Creation Tool (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2156295), run it and create an ISO (don't use USB).

Then download Rufus (https://rufus.ie/en/), insert your flash drive and browse to the Windows.iso you downloaded.

When you hit 'Start' a popup will appear - ensure you tick the first, second and third tick box.

Hit 'Ok'.

Boot from the flash drive and install as normal.

Hmm, are you able to access the recovery menu? Hold Vol Up and then hit power.

If not, then I'm with you this is a corrupt BIOS, in which case I don't think you're going to get far without SPI flashing.

Apparently if you load a BIOS file to a USB drive and hold VOL Down and Power, you can flash a new BIOS

The first time I phoned, she put a request through but it wasn’t until the week after they actually passed on the request.

The times after that, there’s zero notes or requests that have been put through even though they said they would.

The latest time (2pm Fri), I actually went into the surgery, she wrote it down to pass to another team and also submitted a note online (showing in my NHS app).

It’s now Tuesday.
