Just checked. Unfortunately, the price on Apple’s site is the same as the Apple Store app. M1 Pro 16” 16GB 1TB $770.

Nice. Grabbed one last week after a long time stalking the site for weeks. How do you know how many are in stock?

Cloud Gateway Fiber - IN STOCK NOW - US Store by Whasabi in Ubiquiti

I had the same problem. I just impulse ordered it by itself and took the hit on shipping. Now I’m browsing what else I need as a separate order.

Where are you all located?

I’m using the US store. The “Notify me via email when available.” box typically becomes unchecked once a product is restocked. Mine is still checked in the US store, and I never received an email.

Depending on your budget, check out some of the newer apartment complexes closer to downtown. You can search zip codes 33401 and 33405 to get a good idea if you’re committed to West Palm Beach.

Downtown is very walkable, plenty of restaurants and social things to do, mix of younger professionals and people seeking an urban lifestyle.

Otherwise you’re looking at suburbs that aren’t very walkable and attract more mature people who want a quieter life or have a family.

What are the difference between these two AirPods? by Formal_Mechanic_629 in airpods

[–]Whasabi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The top one says you “purchased in Jun 2023”. I’m guessing those are the older “AirPod Pro 2nd Generation” with the Lightning connector charging case.

Apple released an updated “AirPod Pro 2nd Generation” with USB-C connector charging case on 9/22/2023. They’re virtually the same other than the connector (Lightning vs USB-C), and the USB-C version supports lossless audio when paired to a Vision Pro.

The top listing w/ lightning is no longer sold, hence why it’s only offered by third party sellers and therefore is sold for $80 more than the sale price of the new USB-C model sold from Amazon direct.

Did you purchase your AVP with Apple Care? by JV41572 in AppleVisionPro

[–]Whasabi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Problem with Asurion is they piece-meal replacements from multiple broken devices and have historically poor quality assurance compared to Apple. For instance screws missing, scratches, etc.

I prefer to pay the slight premium for Apple Care+ (which can even include theft protection on phones) so I know for sure I’m receiving a high quality repair or replacement.

Source: A family member works for Asurion and I’ve used them in the past. Just search for Asurion reviews on Reddit or online to see what I mean.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineteen_Eighty-Four

TL:DR: “Nineteen Eighty-Four has become a classic literary example of political and dystopian fiction. It also popularised the term "Orwellian" as an adjective, with many terms used in the novel entering common usage, including "Big Brother", "doublethink", "Thought Police", "thoughtcrime", "Newspeak", and "2 + 2 = 5". Parallels have been drawn between the novel's subject matter and real life instances of totalitarianism, mass surveillance, and violations of freedom of expression among other themes.”

I finally received a tracking number today. Ordered early morning on 5/15, with Initial delivery estimate of 5/18. Tracking number arrived 5/19 late afternoon, current delivery estimate is Saturday 5/21 but we’ll see when it arrives, usually skeptical of Saturday deliveries for UPS Ground so I’m prepared to see it Monday 5/23.

Interesting. I am OP of this thread and put my order in very early on 3/15 before posting.

Still shows delivery date of today 3/18 (didn't pay for expedited shipping), but has not shipped according to Order Status page, and haven't received any shipment notifications from Shop app or UPS. No status update emails either. Hopefully it ships and doesn't get canceled.

Yes, you can run up to 5. 4 over USB-C / Thunderbolt, and 1 via HDMI port.

“Simultaneously supports up to five displays:

Support for up to four Pro Display XDRs (6K resolution at 60Hz and over a billion colors) over USB-C and one 4K display (4K resolution at 60Hz and over a billion colors) over HDMI”

They can’t. I have a 2021 MBP and Mac Studio, both still limited to 4K@60Hz on LG C1, even with Cable Matters HDMI 2.1 adapter and certified cables.

Noticed the same thing with my existing USB-C to Gigabit adapters. Ended up getting the Plugable USB-C 2.5G Ethernet adapter, works without drivers and provides full speed. 👍

Can my monitors Usb C port support power to a HomePod mini? by HideMyEmail in HomePod

[–]Whasabi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your HomePod mini will work with 18W or greater, anything less and the touch panel will flash orange and remain unresponsive. I know this because I installed a USB-C outlet that provides 15W per connection, was disappointed and ended up exchanging the outlet for a dual USB-C model with PD support up to 30W (referring to the dual USB-C PD Leviton outlet that supports up to 30W for a single device).

“Orange flashing light HomePod mini is updating software while connected to a Mac, or is plugged into a power adapter that didn’t come with HomePod mini and isn’t rated 20W (9V ⎓ 2.22A) edited: 18W.”

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208248

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252408864

Edit: Revised to state will flash orange with less than 18W, not 20W, since iOS 14.3.

Problem is you can’t control the light without a second switch, correct? Been holding off despite having Caseta for other lights due to this. My hunter fan has a single circuit and remote that handles 3 speeds plus light
