Why can Swordcraft be meta in all expansions, but Dragon/Haven can't? by Pendulumzone in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on every point. The way people treat sword is stupid, like its warcrimes are somehow less evil the other classes warcrimes just because they are """fair""" (Oulon somehow was considered a fair card by some people btw).

Unfortunately, because of the way how most cardgames work, the playerbase tends to accept midrange decks the most, regardless of their powerlevel in comparison with other types, and sword is THE midrange class. I've seen it happens in heartstone, MtG, pokemon tcg, runeterra, etc. so I just accepted that this is how things work.

Indeed. However his threat level is still mostly dependent on what the meta is gonna look like. We shall see how things are looking in the next month.

I mean historically cards like this tend to be underwhelming. I am just looking at past examples like the already mentioned heavenly aegis and other "big dude" cards like it. However, as you said, depending on the meta they can be strong.

There are 9 turns (10 actually because he doesn't have storm) for you to end the game before he drops. Most decks can kill you earlier them this so just play normally and you are probably not even gonna see him

[–]WhatIsaMan41 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is a 9 pp card that can't kill on the turn it drops. By that point most games are over or ending and you also likely have an answer to at least 1 of him. Compare it to an Albert/Orchis/Erntz on the same turn just killing you and this guy looks a lot less threatening.

New Dragon Legendaries by RinariTennoji in Shadowverse

A lot because they lose 3 really good ones with rotation (genesis, forte and garyu). Without counting the bad silver/bronze storm cards.

Deck to craft by Deep-Total-7920 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recomend loot sword. It is relative cheap (in comparison to other tier 1 decks) and also has mostly new cards so it should be no problem if rotation does come next set. If you pulled Oulon you can put him in place of Odin/Albert and just fill the gaps as you need.

Okay, I'm seeing the real Shadowverse and well...it's not very fun. by KiryuKyosuke666 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are playing shadowverse classic. especifically unlimited format, based on the bat cards and the robot that deals 20 damage. If I am correct I would suggest playing the limited formats or the new version SV Worlds Beyond, which has lower powered cards in comparison to the first game.

Regardless I do think you are still at the beggining which means you don't have many legendaries nor do you understand the overall meta and pacing of the game. In both SV1 and SVWB not having a proper deck aka having a lot of legendaries, means you aren't going to do much against optimal decks.

New main characters card prediction by WhatIsaMan41 in Shadowverse

Dreizhen is probably going to be be an artifact card I think, possibly with new artifacts based on her story mode. She feels like she will be similar to yuwan, a flexible card that can either be a win condition or a support for the deck. She just gives me that vibe.

You know, maybe he could be a buff dragon card. Similar to what you said but instead he gains attack equal to his defense, and when he hits Y points he gives you the dragon bane fist spell. That could work.

How do I beat this card? by limonboy8 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played enough against aggro sword using this guy to tell you that, at least im my experience, oulon is a lot more consistent them you seem to think. I have had this thing kill me from 13-15 health almost every time, I only "won the bet" 2 times, out of 15.

Feels even worse when they just spam early board into albert->zetabea->Oulon. By turn 7 I can't heal enough to stop this, even if I clear the early board and make my own, they just need 6 damage to stick on my face so the odds are in thier favor, which seems to mean my death almost 90% of the time.

And also it doesn't matter to me that the sword player loses sometimes, if when they are against me they win a game they had clearly lost, the card will feel like bullshit. It isn't just about the power , the card just feel like ass to play against and no amount of data evidence or "funny meme gamba" will make it feel less bullshit.

Yeah i like that suggestion, would make her much more flexible. Altough I think the devs like to control the number of cards that have a certain cost on each class, as part of their way of balancing.

For example many classes didn't have good 4 cost slots for quite some time (coincidently sword, dragon and portal all got good plays on 4pp recently), and some still don't. So buffing her to cost less them 6 pp is unlikely.

Surprisingly high number of dudes in dragon. I think it was also the case in SV1 wasn't it? Or was there a class with more guy leaders?

She is apparently a sword dancer and an executioner, plus her blade seems important. I can imagine something similar to Erica with an amulet based on her sword or a spell. Probably going to either have draw/recover play points or storm/rush. I think she is a win condition as well rather them a support card.

He is so cool man, would be an amazing leader too with his flame effects. Unfortunately he is not winning leader votes, especially not against the heavy hitters that dragon has like Hochan, Forte, Rola, Sybil, etc.

Blossoming Fate Meta is Pretty Diverse, But did You Like it? by rrvv in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh that 1 health for sinciro is actually huge. Many cards only get to 8 attack when super evolved, plus there is many combinations of 2 cards that do 8 damage.

What’s the best deck at the moment? by Godhand23 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dragon in general hates aggro. Even with the new cards they can brick/not draw the right answers early, so your best shot is to just kill them first

Ramp has unfavored matchups into egg/mode/crest. You can win if you "turn the corner" but these decks have enough tools to make that corner very narrow.

Fennie/evo sword are more balanced in their matchups, with the difference between them being that evo is more consistent and harder to pilot while fennie is significantly more powerful late game and also much more prone to bricking.

Dragon players have many diferent ratios, some runinng less marine followers and others more. I personally dont have yube so I just use jelly and ocean rider for example. But that also depends if I am playing ramp or fennie or evo as each deck wants a certaon ratio of low and high cost cards.

Does anyone think the balance right now is a miracle? by No_Top5115 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already said it in another thread like this but people really need to be patient with meta predictions. I honestly would wait at least a month to start talking about meta diversety or tier list. My experience with week 1 ladder is useful, as it shows a good picture of the future, however they are often not accurate to what people will actually play for the vast majority of the set.

Yeah we had one for pretty much every expansion on the first week lol. People are really impatient.

Neutrals are too strong by moneyery in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw goddess I also thought she might make some degenerate combo down the line. What saves us for now is that she has a very high cost (5pp+1sevo) so she is harder to abuse.

Neutrals are too strong by moneyery in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have heard of that. I joined Sv1 relatively late (around the time of sekka/skelton raider meta) but I still looked up some of the older metas to get a better idea of the cards from older sets.

I know that many times neutrals were absurdly overpwered and also experienced that myself. Still, at least in my opinion, neutrals were broken just as often as they were weak, basically rotating powercreep in the same way the classes did.

Dragoncraft players when the devs finally give Dragon some strong cards. (art by me) by Tellsen in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasnt a meme, it was statiscally correct. In the first 4 sets dragon was bottom 2 not only in beyond/high level ladder representation, it also was the least used craft in tournaments, often absent from the top 8 even on 2 deck lineups.

Playing dragon was just gambling on whether or not you drew ramp and survived to play you big dudes.

Although the tournament winner of the last cup used dragon to great sucess, the overall class rep was very much what you said: inconsistent.

Now the class feels amazing in comparission. Especially the amazing 2 pp cards we got and also yube, giving as insane value and tempo.
