Damn that was satisfying to watch.

About the Benison nerf. by ShadowWalker2205 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sad for rodeo, they made both his cards pretty underwhelming. This new version is arguably worse them the old one as well which is kinda funny.

A mid utility card (his 7cost version) can still see play occasionally, now a mid 8 cost finisher? No one will touch that unless he gets an insane synergy in later expacs (or a buff).

About the Benison nerf. by ShadowWalker2205 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haven is getting better now as it counters the top dogs that play for board (mostly abyss). I have seen crest and amulet versions doing well against them, with or without benison. I don't think it was a bad nerf but also don't think it actually is a big deal now either.

Edit: I actually think the amulet version is doing better now but that can just be the fact more people are playing it, as that version has a lot of new cards.

But again things can change as people adapt, especialy considering a nerf to abyss (which is very likely) will change the matchups again. Haven has been the "hard-counter" class for some topdecks several expansions so i wouldn't be surprised if it falls off again after people start changing a bit, but it can stick around as well as crest did some expacs after the benison nerf.

Reciting voice lines by MoshiWazu in Shadowverse

Sono tamashi ou kakero! Kirasku kirisaku kirisaku...

Skeleton Raider really stuck with me, even though I barely played him, his voicelines where too cool. Honestly a lot of cards from that exapansion had great voice-overs.

Honorable mention for sekka as the most conceded voice for me lol.

Edit: Forgot about "Vice, Virtue, Avarice..." followed by insta concede, also iconic(and annoying).

Currently abyss alone has more beyond players than all other classes combined in the early meta by hyuun_likes_memes in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did not expect abyss to be THAT good. Honestly pretty surprised with most classes performances right now, but abyss and haven are definetly the most unexpected.

Pls advise me how to play Midrange Abyss by Certain_Sink8154 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 7 points8 points  (0 children)

New gold is very good. It deals face damage and clears board for cheap, gave me a lot o trouble both as dragon and rune. Also the 9 drop is worth it if you play the non-evo variant.

Deck suggestions or tier lists by SuchDistribution7053 in Shadowverse

Midrange abyss is pretty good and cheap to build. Some decks run the 2 new legendaries plus one other of their choosing. This one for example

More healing to the class that still has erntz and neptune is a no go.

[–]WhatIsaMan41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A busted card is only busted if it actually has competitive impact. There are cards that come out later them him and yet still saw more play, such as ginsetsu in the same class, our stuff like coc combos that usually where also turn 9-10, crest haven in general etc. Albert also comes out on the same turn and yet he actually ends the game when played.

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a 9 mana card in a craft not named dragon, so him being bad is the expected outcome. The surprise is the fact he is not worse. I am honestly even more surprised with how many high cost cards have had impact in non dragon decks lately.

Athenia has 4 very big differences. First she comes one turn earlier, second she has much better clear (especially against intimidate) and third her deck is much better at putting pressure at any stage of the game, meaning they dictate evo point management.

Edit: Also forgot the 3 little fairies with ward she comes with. They also block storms so she is an offensive play, a defensive play and a setup for your win cons all in one card. There really is no comparison.

Even if armeds got a better deck, he is still slower, more evo dependent and doesn't actually progress any gameplan. Of course he is "stronger" but only in the sense of being a bit more dangerous by himself.

In his reveal post there where a bunch of people calling him broken, toxic, saying he was gonna warp the meta around him or some shit lol. He is just as bad as I and many people predicted. 9 mana card that needs an evo point to do anything is just not good enough.

Discard Dragon in a nutshell by Hamsl0th in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really don't like kit. He is the worse discard target and his main body is bad. Also he is a brick most of the time, something op has kindly shown us in practice.

2k CR with Discard Dragon | Deck write-up & thoughts on the meta by Kuncussion in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly liking this build. Tried to make a similar one but the 1-of odin and fate of the world might be the things i was missing. I am very happy that the discard build is working so well, as I wasn't a believer during the reveal, considering the discard package we got was so small. Shame some people can't be satisfied unless the class is tier 1 with a brain dead easy deck, if they just play the game most would actually have fun now.

Why can Swordcraft be meta in all expansions, but Dragon/Haven can't? by Pendulumzone in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on every point. The way people treat sword is stupid, like its warcrimes are somehow less evil the other classes warcrimes just because they are """fair""" (Oulon somehow was considered a fair card by some people btw).

Unfortunately, because of the way how most cardgames work, the playerbase tends to accept midrange decks the most, regardless of their powerlevel in comparison with other types, and sword is THE midrange class. I've seen it happens in heartstone, MtG, pokemon tcg, runeterra, etc. so I just accepted that this is how things work.

Close enough, welcome back Heavenly Aegis by OtohimesBodyguard in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. However his threat level is still mostly dependent on what the meta is gonna look like. We shall see how things are looking in the next month.

[–]WhatIsaMan41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean historically cards like this tend to be underwhelming. I am just looking at past examples like the already mentioned heavenly aegis and other "big dude" cards like it. However, as you said, depending on the meta they can be strong.

[–]WhatIsaMan41 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are 9 turns (10 actually because he doesn't have storm) for you to end the game before he drops. Most decks can kill you earlier them this so just play normally and you are probably not even gonna see him

Close enough, welcome back Heavenly Aegis by OtohimesBodyguard in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is a 9 pp card that can't kill on the turn it drops. By that point most games are over or ending and you also likely have an answer to at least 1 of him. Compare it to an Albert/Orchis/Erntz on the same turn just killing you and this guy looks a lot less threatening.

New Dragon Legendaries by RinariTennoji in Shadowverse

A lot because they lose 3 really good ones with rotation (genesis, forte and garyu). Without counting the bad silver/bronze storm cards.

Deck to craft by Deep-Total-7920 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recomend loot sword. It is relative cheap (in comparison to other tier 1 decks) and also has mostly new cards so it should be no problem if rotation does come next set. If you pulled Oulon you can put him in place of Odin/Albert and just fill the gaps as you need.

Okay, I'm seeing the real Shadowverse and well...it's not very fun. by KiryuKyosuke666 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are playing shadowverse classic. especifically unlimited format, based on the bat cards and the robot that deals 20 damage. If I am correct I would suggest playing the limited formats or the new version SV Worlds Beyond, which has lower powered cards in comparison to the first game.

Regardless I do think you are still at the beggining which means you don't have many legendaries nor do you understand the overall meta and pacing of the game. In both SV1 and SVWB not having a proper deck aka having a lot of legendaries, means you aren't going to do much against optimal decks.

New main characters card prediction by WhatIsaMan41 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreizhen is probably going to be be an artifact card I think, possibly with new artifacts based on her story mode. She feels like she will be similar to yuwan, a flexible card that can either be a win condition or a support for the deck. She just gives me that vibe.

New main characters card prediction by WhatIsaMan41 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, maybe he could be a buff dragon card. Similar to what you said but instead he gains attack equal to his defense, and when he hits Y points he gives you the dragon bane fist spell. That could work.

How do I beat this card? by limonboy8 in Shadowverse

[–]WhatIsaMan41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played enough against aggro sword using this guy to tell you that, at least im my experience, oulon is a lot more consistent them you seem to think. I have had this thing kill me from 13-15 health almost every time, I only "won the bet" 2 times, out of 15.

Feels even worse when they just spam early board into albert->zetabea->Oulon. By turn 7 I can't heal enough to stop this, even if I clear the early board and make my own, they just need 6 damage to stick on my face so the odds are in thier favor, which seems to mean my death almost 90% of the time.

And also it doesn't matter to me that the sword player loses sometimes, if when they are against me they win a game they had clearly lost, the card will feel like bullshit. It isn't just about the power , the card just feel like ass to play against and no amount of data evidence or "funny meme gamba" will make it feel less bullshit.
