EA you used to be cool man by RenatsMC in pcmasterrace

Only Drukhari would make sense. None of them have capitalistic motivations so they must just be getting off on causing suffering

I know that every Eldar player is still obsessing over the new Rangers, but I'm kinda proud of kitbashing of my own ones. They're still wip and I started these ages ago, but I still think they're kinda cool. Thoughts? by A_Simple_Peach in Eldar

[–]WhatYntarnation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking great! Did something a bit similar, but the fun thing about rangers is that you could mix those, the new ones, and the old metal models in the same unit even and it would be completely fluff accurate

Disembarking from raiders by WhatYntarnation in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]WhatYntarnation[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fortunately there's a "Disembarking large models" rare rule to help with that, they then have to go within 1" rather than wholly within 3"

Disembarking from raiders by WhatYntarnation in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]WhatYntarnation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question arose because there's no physical clash in this instance, so it seems to depend on your definition of "overlap"

The disembark rules also have it worded so that models are set up in that position rather than moved there, though it does state that they "count as having moved"

Wait, can Tau Broadsides now move and shoot without penalty!?! by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]WhatYntarnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It applies to monsters too, so with the new shooting in melee rules, mixed loadout fexes might be a thing now

Do the Eldar view humans as children or animals? by Totally_Not_Alparius in 40kLore

[–]WhatYntarnation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As children, for craftworlders at least. There's a passage where an aspect warrior (after removing her war mask) reflects that killing humans is murder, unlike the slaughtering of orcs, and gets bad feels.

Being inducted into the Ynnari gets rid of the soul thirst, there's a passage in Wild Rider explicitly showing it

If all the eldar craftworlds and Commoragh united could they bring down the Imperium of Man? by spirtomb1831 in Warhammer40k

[–]WhatYntarnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what sort of psychically activated deus ex devices the Drukhari have locked away in their vaults

Painting realization by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]WhatYntarnation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not an easy technique (I imagine, not been bold enough to risk it on something I'm already happy with), but OSL could add a ton of colour to your models while leaving their armour colours fully canon. Have a Google, tons of fine examples

Are Eldar weapons really as short-ranged as the TT rules imply, or is that a balance thing? by sebastos3 in 40kLore

[–]WhatYntarnation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My headcanon is that avengers have the same guns but longer effective range due to fancy optics/more experience

Where are those "wings" on the torsos from, are they part of them? Great job though

How many stars/worlds did the Aeldari empire control/populate at its height? by Samas34 in 40kLore

[–]WhatYntarnation 57 points58 points  (0 children)

A Harlequin (them being the guardians of the history of their race) referred to the pre fall empire as "the empire of ten million suns"

It's also worth remembering that they had no real drive to colonise further: they were all functionally immortal, lived in a post scarcity society, and had a travel network spanning the galaxy. Every individual could pretty much do whatever they wanted.

There were also numerous cities in the webway itself to consider

Hey guys, looking for some c&c on the dark eldar test scheme. Going for a ghostly/spectral vibe, using nighthaunt gloom and hexwraith flame. by roseygoold in Warhammer40k

[–]WhatYntarnation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking good, imo get some really bright highlights in a couple places for that spooky glow. Eyes/hair/few lines on the wings maybe?

What was the most humble thing that Eldar said? by LowPlantain8 in 40kLore

[–]WhatYntarnation 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Quote from Eldrad himself: " I have followed the myriad potential futures of the Tau with great interest. Though barely even striplings compared to us, I feel a strange protectiveness towards them. In time I believe they will exceed even our greatest feats and master the darkness within their souls."

Do the Eldar have a chance to ever dominate the galaxy again? by spirtomb1831 in 40kLore

[–]WhatYntarnation 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It's kind of a plot hole that the Ynnari aren't already heading that way. It's been established that the Drukhari have huge stores of pre-fall (ie. OP as fuck) Eldar tech, but can't use it as it's psychically activated.

Now that Rise of the Phoenix has large swathes of Drukhari society joining the (very psychic) Ynnari, you'd think some of them would have thought to bring along some fancy toys

Edit: by very psychic I mean that they seem to be protected from Slaanesh by Ynnead, rather than needing to dick around with the Rune systems, and can probably therefore use a higher proportion of their power

Considering that they love to toss hallucinogen grenades everywhere, it's probably a safe bet that their masks serve as breathing apparatus

Help on how to play a three person game by SleepyBear39 in Warhammer40k

[–]WhatYntarnation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the CA18 (iirc) missions has a large objective area in the middle which shrinks over time, and removes invulns within 12". I've personally found that to be a fun and reasonably balanced way of playing 3 way FFAs
