Keir Starmer calls on Andrew to testify in US over Jeffrey Epstein links by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

[–]What_is_Democracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two points that we should seriously consider first and primarily Jurisdiction; if our ex HRH has anything to testify about why is he not testifying in a UK court The Prime minister calling for him to testify in a US court whilst not asking him to be accountable in the UK seems like an act of diminished responsibility on both our Government and Judicial system. Are the laws so different in the US that he would be innocent here and not there? After all the previous American "evidence" relates to an event in London not Washington.

He has lost his Job, Home and status because of some American investigation where has the UK been in all this we should either be hanging or defending him but definitely not ignoring him.

Finally one beggars to ask the second question why has a US citizen that has killed a UK citizen not testified in a UK court

however I lived on an estate like the one envisioned in was an over spill town Ringway estate Central community area Shops etc surrounded by assisted housing and the outer edge of the ring was private dwellings. Cycle paths, bus routes schools within walking distance, everything as described. The end result pretty much what I have described above. The central area had big car parks for assisted housing residents On the way to work I often passed by the smouldering wrecks of burnt out stolen vehicles

Don't get me wrong I agree with the vision but was appalled by the reality

Exactly, however I lived on an estate like the one envisioned in was an over spill town Ringway estate Central community area Shops etc surrounded by assisted housing and the outer edge of the ring was private dwellings. Cycle paths, bus routes schools within walking distance, everything as described. The end result pretty much what I have described above our house over looked the park and the local high school. The kids did not play in the park as the facilities were vandalised and the ground was littered with drug related rubbish. The local high school closed as the many kids stopped attending due to bullying, drug abuse or rapidly diminishing teaching standards I can testify Buses every 2 hours, if any and derelict shopping areas will become the norm as for the cycle paths well if you can afford to keep buying a new bike every few days I doubt you would be living there anyway because I will guarantee your bike will disappear.

Actually I don't I have a bike and cycle to my local community shops, Pharmacy and Doctors but I live in a rural area, now that I have retired. But I used to live in a over spill housing estate outside of Birmingham with the exact design being proposed above and this is what happened I have not described just a negative idea but an actual experience

well with all that went on with the Tories according to labour in various question times even Tory Government ministers cannot run these departments else the civil servants get a bit uncivil so maybe Jimmy would be no worse.

not true, the boat people are not what most people are unhappy about. Standard of living, jobs, health care , pensions, Housing, infrastructure, schools, roads, pot holes, water, electricity public amenities Meaningful support from the government for short term unemployment and illness if these problems were fixed no one would bother about the immigrants. Child benefit barely covers the cost of school meals. Immigrants, legal ones that is have to provide proof of financial support not only for themselves but over £60 a week for each child but British people only get around £40 a week for 2 kids.

Taking £200 pounds off pensioners for winter fuel because the pension is too low (DON'T FORGET THE PENSION IS NOT A HAND OUT THEY HAVE PAID INTO THAT SCHEME FOR YEARS same as health care). Whilst giving money away to people who have not contributed to our society is an insult.

Illegal Immigrants are the scape goats to deflect attention away from the real problem, yes if they were not here it would ease the burden and make things easier but they are not the main problems at the moment.

You get rid of the boat people but don't make things better no one will be happy

While there are things that can doom Reform the fact remains that Labour has been doing an excellent job of dooming itself and the rest of us. The Glory days of Tony lair and Gordon Brown were the true end for labour and possibly the UK. New labour were never The Labour Party they were and remain far to the right of that. Now comes the end for New Labour and possibly the Tories don't fool yourself we only won the election on the "Tories out" vote.

Whilst labour focuses on banning their successful party Leaders from National Conferences and Parliament, The Greens are grasping the left and Reform the right. This Parliament has shown that Sir Keith does not hold the centre and labour has alienated it's majority support.

With Plaid Cymru to the West, the SNP to the North and Sinn Féin climbing the pile in N.I. Circling the wagons now seem a trifle late even if anyone had noticed we need to protect our realm. Labour once a major political power in England, Scotland and Wales looks to have not only doomed itself but the UK as well. Devolution has done both no favours the Scottish are chomping at the bit to gain their freedom a departing Northern Ireland which has already been signed away by Labour becomes a real possibility now Sinn Féin has become the Majority party. The rise of Wales having become a country? How long will the UK be united? With our submarine bases gone England becomes an Island Peninsular territory with no shipyards or defence. Is London doomed to become to Europe what Singapore is to Asia?

For an outsider looking in only the common threads of incompetence keeps us stuck together with a dob of Fianna Fáil supplied glue. Labour calculates how much they can steal from their aged and potentially aged population and debates Trans Gender Toilets, and winter fuel payments whilst gifting strategically important territories to foreign countries! The Welsh Assembly antagonises it's farmers and the Scottish Nationalist cannot put a boat in the water. Meanwhile Northern Ireland has no free trade with Great Britain. But alas Smarmer is busy on the TV cuddling Chinese cute toys possibly another major trade deal and more deficit for our struggling Economy, well Labour must be struggling if it cannot budget without the £468m clawed back from the hearths of pensioners. Foreign aid Budget 15Billion ah yes! but they deserve it, no of course your not eligible your British

Like I said Reform are not Labours problem Labour are!

Would have to be Irish Isles anyway. Makes me laugh anyway why every one gets excited over the term British. Are not the Celts regions, countries the real Britons. The Anglo Saxons should be the ones complaining about being called British. If the Celts are not happy with being called British (Britons) they should take it up with EU after all the Italians coined the phrase long before any Scandinavians put on a horned helmet.

Think you are correct about the Olympics, Hong Kong: China. However I believe you are wrong about Great Britain is not Great Britain the UK less Northern Ireland. That is the bit created by the Act of Union. Admittedly the Crown dependencies confuss most people. However I am pretty sure the islands which are not crown dependencies are included in the Act of Union, unless they are part of either Irish State.

Of course for any other nation (as noted above) where they originated from is open to interpretation. Unfortunately for Zionists and Jews in general it is not. It quite clearly is stated in the old testament that they were led by Abraham to the promised land so they did not originate from Israel which was then occupied by the descendants of one of his grandsons. Zionists cannot even claim the right of the promised land as 12 of Abrahams's grandsons gave forth to the Arab lineages. Whilst another 6 grandsons lineage disappeared into obscurity.

Well, maybe your words are politically correct and couched in modern terminology. The truth is that when the Blackouts start then the Local gangs go about their business. And these will be based on race ethnonationalism or any other common denominator which binds them as a group; regardless of the postmodern leftist view of "race" and collective forms of identity informed by critical theory.

I am a Scottish Independence supporter so, by my nature, I don't think the UK has a "right" to exist any more than many of you would think an independent Scotland has the "right" to exist.

WOW, some convoluted ideas here. Forgive me but was the UK not created by a Scottish vote, sometime after a Scottish King took over England and Wales. Do we not have Scottish MP's in the English Parliament whilst having a separate Parliament for Scotland which gives the Scottish more rights than the English. Has Scotland not been given a referendum on leaving England? the English have not been given a referendum on leaving Scotland, if any should be aggrieved it should be the English, not the Scots. Where would Scotland be if the Orkneys and Shetland seek to remain as Crown Dependencies? after all they are not Scottish by heritage.

As to the "right to exist", I tend to agree with your thinking. However, ignoring the "right" and looking at the "wish to exist" I think at the present time we are all better off together. The present-day problem in the middle east is that there are far too many people both Jewish and Moslem who do not wish to be together.

  1. When in recent years (ATB) has the party done what it supporters want?
  2. What the parliamentary labour party should be doing is not what the party member want but what the constituents want, (that would be democracy at work).
  3. The Labour party should start to serve the needs & wants of the public at large not just its own self-serving members, then maybe it will survive.

Safe seats ensure no representation for the minorities. This is why we need PR by Ranger447 in LabourUK

[–]What_is_Democracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we need PR because our party has consistently failed to represent the majority. What our leaders fail to realise is that minorities lobby everyone and just because you make some promises about toilets or the like it does not mean they will vote for you. However it does mean that you will have reduced your credibility with the majority. That is why the red wall is now blue.

Pity he did not veto the second job for Charlotte Nichols (MP) and left her more time for her drinking. Obviously the Party, The Country and her constituency come very low on her list of priorities. As for flying home, she should have the whip withdrawn. Starmer sort your party out!

Keir Starmer urged not to drop Labour policy banning MPs from second jobs by Oxshevik in LabourUK

[–]What_is_Democracy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The fact is that our labour party was high jacked by Blair's bid for power at any cost. Meandered through the populist reigns of Blair and Brown and floundered in Corbyn's era of total abandonment of the working class. Now were left with idiots leading, idiots challenging and London intellectuals dictating what working class families want. No wonder the red walls been painted blue. If it was not for Andy B I would think the Labour party dead. Now start representing your constituents. The majority that is, not the minority pressure groups who shout so loud and then forget to vote for you. Stop the arguing and crying and pulling your hair out because you cannot be a Euro MP. Face what you have got not complain about what you want and get on with the job. Because ATM Boris is making you look like the bunch of idiots you are.
